As promised, we reveal the last Tier II titans, before this year ends.

Posted by on

Greetings everyone and welcome back to our dev news posting!

https://media.moddb.com/images/articles/1/290/289175/auto/Unification_emblem.png

We are going to keep this one rather short but sweet this time around. We thought for these final Tier II titans, it would be worth having their own spotlight.Just like their other equivalents in our previous dev blog.

We start with a small new upgrade to something you have seen already, the Space Marines Reaver Battle Titan.

Following the recent addition of the Reaver Eradicator Volkite in the official Tabletop Rules by GW, the Reaver in-game has an option to replace its Missile Launcher to the aforementioned new weapon, among the usual options. As with all Volkites in-game, they offer an extra punch against single, heavily armoured targets compared to the anti-swarm missiles.

Moving on, we have the majestic Eldar Phantom Titan, finally more accurate to its Tabletop equivalent.

https://media.moddb.com/images/articles/1/302/301518/auto/20211229043659_1.jpghttps://media.moddb.com/images/articles/1/302/301518/auto/20211229043428_1.jpg

Equipped with two super charged distortion cannons(aka D-Cannons) and Phantom Missile Launchers, no enemy of the Aeldari can stand against them for long!

And of course, the last reveal for today, we have the Chaos Reaver Battle Titan or as better known as Ravager Titan.
https://media.moddb.com/images/articles/1/302/301518/auto/20211225035510_1.jpg

Since the Chaos Warhound-properly renamed to Feral Titan now-is the Lucius Pattern(compared to the loyalist one, which is the Mars Pattern), we have decided to follow the same approach with the Reaver and provide a version of it that is less known.
In addition, it should be further said that the differences between its loyalist cousin do not stop here.
The Ravager upgrades its melta cannon to a volcano cannon instead to the usual triple laser blaster while its missile launcher to Turbo-Laser Destructor.

It should be noted that in both titans, the power fist is not just for show.It is a proper power melee weapon.

Of course, with the new system in place, it does not mean only the vanilla races benefit.
All currently present titan units that were not into the system, now have been integrated.
This means that units, like the Imperial Fist Relic Heavy Tanks are now considered as Tier I titans, following their much needed buffs. While they will have the requirements of the regular Tier I titans, it also means they no longer share cap with the rest of the relic units the Fists have, opening up more strategic possibilities.
The Emperor's Children titans (the Questor, Subjugator and the House Divine Knight) are part of the system as well(and accordingly buffed as needed).
Any other Imperial Knight already in that was not part of the system(like the Dark Angels Vortigan) will be as well.
And as you can expect, with the Daemon Hunters Psi-Titan being Tier 2, the Banelord of the World Eaters, while keeps its unique implementation army wise, it now requires the Tier II sub wincondition.
With all Tier II titans revealed, feel free to tell us in the comments which one of all is your favourite! :D

As expected, this article does not mean we won't be posting stuff in the meantime. While we indeed are taking it a bit slower during the Holiday Season, do make sure to stay tuned, as we will most likely be able to post more of our progress all across the board(the titan system is but a fraction of what we actually have in store for your)!

And to conclude, we would like to thank you one last time for this year for your ongoing and enormous support all this time.
Thanks to you, we managed to solely represent the DOW 1 Community in this year's ModDB awards, not only as a honourable mention in the Top 10 but also awarded as part of the Editor's Choice. We couldn't have done this without your enormous help and support. We are most honoured and humbled and we aim with renewed enthusiasm to continue our work in 2022!

Happy holidays and see you on the battlefields of the Grim Darkness of the Future everyone!

Very big Ds.

The Chaos Reaver is insane. The glowing fist is a very nice touch.

All will come in fruition at long last.
Funny how both have big artillery and specialised with attrition.

The titans look great! Will they be added to the final waves in the survival mode like the Tier 1 titans? Or will they just be a player thing.

I also absolutely cannot wait for the eventual Tyranid Swarm update. It seems like it's still TBD for a release, but that has me extremely excited.

For now an improved Hierophant is scheduled.
But we would rather attempt other biotitans too.

A dev team that actually properly plans and implements changes to a game. This is the sort of this some actual gaming companies don't do, but you guys just knock it out of the park. Every new update just shows the dedication this team has to 40k and the DOW game. Really amazing work guy here's to a great next year full of content and epic stuff. Have a happy new year!

There is but not much yet for a full dev blog.
We do occasionally post updates of it in our server as part of teasers.
We will post here once we have something more concrete down.
It is a huge initiative.

Congratulations team 😊. Really excited for the next version. I really wonder how you guys manage to pump out immensely high quality units at such a break neck speed. And as for titans I am looking forward to all of them especially psi titan. All the best to you!😊

Congrats to being featured in the editors choice awards, top 100 and also getting a honourary mention too, which was especially hard this year since there was a lot of formidable competition present this round!

Also about the news from the titan system.
I find it kind of funny how there is the Banelord right now and in the next version the Sinister Psi-Titan but no regular Warlord yet.
Well, i assume that one will be tier 3 since the Warhound and Reaver had to appear first, being some of the most common and known Titan types both in the setting and in real life.

Not criticizing, just found it funny.

... also with your intention to feature both Lucius and Mars patterns to make vanilla SM and CSM more distinct from each other, i guess Chaos will get that blocky and iconic Warlord in the future.

Well, the tiers go by power levels.
The Banelord and Psi-Titan are technically special Warlord variants. So you can say in some form, they are in.
Now about the actual ones, we will see what the future brings. ;)
