I'm playtesting as the Spanish state. Unfortunately the Total Diplomacy didn't work, so i am locked into a life & death struggle with Germany after conquering the Portuguese Capital (prior to this the Germans wanted that city as well) and currently i am defending the conquered French city from a German army after taking it the previous turn. Germany besieged Barcelona with two full armies and i won thanks to more planes, and then i took the initiative and conquered their closest French territory. But they have more armies on the march, and are also besiging Lyon, Capital of the Vichy French - at the same time.
Yes, Germany is fighting Spain, Italy and Vichy France all at once. Italy and Vichy France choose my side oddly enough. RTW backstabbing AI is a problem for the AXIS-alliance. The Allies are kept together by the Roman Senate.
