Problems installing Total War: 1942 on steam?

MrNygren added this tutorial for steam installation:

INFO FOR STEAM USERS

Mod needs to be placed in both the main directory of your Rome Total War Gold Edition, and in the BI-folder.

Also, you'd need to do some edits:

- "Steam needs players to go to the Steam library, then right click "Rome Total War", then click on "Properties" at the bottom.

Then when clicked on, one has to click on the "set starting alternative" and then once there add the line: -nm 1942 -show_err -mod:bi\1942

But the mod also need to be (the full mod) in both the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rome Total War Gold folder,
and in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rome Total War Gold\BI-folder.

So Steam needs two versions."

Background might be vanilla with new title for Steam. Should still work.
To start the Campaign using Steam, you'd need to click single player, then custom campaigns and after that choose the "Barbarian Invasion".

Addition from Dagovax:

For steam users you can also use the launcher: place the launcher inside the root on steam, but keep in mind that you need to copy the folder to the BI folder everytime there was an update!!!

To copy the mod to BI folder as MrNygren said, locate the '1942' folder inside your root path, and copy it inside the bi folder there.

So you will have two folder with the same content. Following the example location from the instruction above, you need to have this folders:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rome Total War Gold\1942

and

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rome Total War Gold\BI\1942
