Total Mayhem takes Total Annihilation, bugfixes and extends it the way Cavedog might have. All units are useful while retaining original TA gameplay. Many new units added (longtime players will recognise some 3rd-party units), including a whole new 3rd tech level tier.. Existing and added units have been bugfixed, rebalanced, re-modeled, re-textured and re-rendered to equal or exceed the standard of the original TA units

TOTAL MAYHEM's features include:

  • An extended builder interface with 12 buttons per page instead of the usual 6, with hotkey overlays
  • Lots of UX and ease-of-use improvements including hotkeys and shortcut keys
  • Loads of bugfixes that prevent lockups and crashes, improve unit AI and improve game performance, meaning more units ingame with less lag
  • endeavors to make all the units useful, open up more strategic options without removing any existing ones
  • LOADS of added units, including a complete Level 3 tier: experimental kbots, tanks, navy and air, mobile fortresses, nuke bombers, nuke cannons and more

This is a big update! Mainly it's a major return to OTA balancing, and a return to the central concept of simply "make all the units useful".

It plays much like OTA does, and much of the rebalancing is thanks to using the ProTA rebalance mod as a reference point.

i can get the scermage to work but if i click on the new campaign button i get a popup that says 'error in GUI layout' did i install it wrond or dose this simply not work with the campaigns?

You have the Core Contingency CD?

Just copy ccdata.ccx and ccmaps.ccx to your cavedog/totala folder :)

If you have 3.1 patch, that's all you need.

i'm just loving the mod. if you could add commanders have upgrades and go to tech 2 and 3. and tech 3 nuke defense structure with longer range and really long range artillery gun placements. looking forward to bata 8

Beta 8 is nearly here! Lots of new upgrades and features. Definitely giving Commander upgrades some thought.

There are already very long-range Nuke cannons available at L3 :)
