This modification offers an alternative gameplay to Tiberian Wars involving many Tiberian Sun units which many CnC fans (like me) missing in vanilla CNC3 and add even new my made units which you can't find anywhere else. Story is quite the same like Tiberian Wars, but is all about what if GDI and Nod do not abandon technologies they have used in Tiberian Sun era and instead of that further developed them. But it's not only that, there are many visual, sound and balance changes which I want to see and hear in my mod, new sounds, new music, new effects (like blood and gore, new infantry deaths, new more realistic missile trails) and many more.

Maybe tibrium that cause distribution in the weather and cause huge Ion storm?

Who knows? A "Tiberium storm" that's able to damage even air units?

What about a Tiberium Agitator? Since the Earth already has Tib everywhere beneath the surface (even Blue Zones have wome Tib) this SW could agitate the particles in a particular place and have them form unstable glacier like spikes on an area that explode afterwards for a good amount of damage. Acting a bit like a catalyst for the Tib, I think it would fit the Forgotten theme.

Do the explosions affect air units?

Of course, its a vinifera strain explosion so it would be massive.

That seems like something that Nod would use.
The forgotten tend to have old weaponry, like mammoth tanks or whatever was left over from previous conflicts.

An A-10 strafe or airstrike seems more appropriate, it's something they're more likely to have.

They should also be fairly familiar with Tiberium in general, however. If nothing else, purely on the basis of their medical research on how not to go ax-crazy from the mutations induced by the stuff.
Plus, since they're already immune to its effects...well, they probably wouldn't be paying a lot for protective equipment.

Ion storms in Tiberian Sun could ground and even destroy aircraft.

Turning the very sky into a yellowish colour as bots of lightning struck the ground in the area.

There was even a NOD mission where the cover of an Ion storm blocked out GDI's communications long enough for NOD to destroy their base without fear of reinforcements.

There is a lot to play with.

For this reason I suggest to have it as support power. Having a localized ion storm you can "inhibit" an area (no aircrafts can fly, no communications work, stealth detection disabled, etc.) and then attack that area with your forces.

Extra points: When they were still supposed to be a faction in Tiberian Sun (or at least, its addon), that kind of an ability was on the drawing board.

Can that be coded?

No-Fly zone? Maybe not as such, and in any case, Ion Storm-proofing existed between TS and Firestorm anyhow, but it still ended very poorly when somebody tried to actually USE it.
So, if nothing else, a huge field of "Imma damage all yer flyin' ****!" with the appropriate effects shouldn't be impossible, no? Also, Scrin have an Ion-Storm-Tower-defence, no?

Well, the "instant destruction for all air units" could be possible.

Seems too harsh, especially if you accidentally click your plane to move and *POOF*. Maybe you could code it to be a global EMP event that targets classified unit types? Namely aircraft units?

That EMP should be more specified. Not only disable air units, but also stealth detection, radar, etc, maybe defensive structures should be disabled.

I think Ion Storm superweapon which will damage ground units and aircraft will be good choice for Forgotten faction. I remember it was powerful in Tiberian Sun. It could work almost like weather storm superweapon in RA2.

Which "superweapon" was so good in TS?

I like the idea of using Ion Storms as a weapon. But for some reason I could see a 'Jonah Hex' style weapon; where a larger fuel-style (possibly tiberium) seeds are scattered around the Superweapons area of damage, then a 'catalyst' slams in the middle and detonates it all with a chain reaction.

Thats just my 5 cents. jfpoliveira12 has the right sort of idea

If I recall correctly, it was Westwood's original intention of having the Forgotten be able to control the weather or tiberium in a way the Scrin did not anticipate. Basing the superweapon around this idea as a way of showing the Forgotten's mastery of Tiberium or the elements of this disfigured earth would be excellent.

Hard question with scrin around, how tiberium based lifedorm is supposed to be damaged by tiberium. Also how ion storm can damage their ships cause they are healing in it

its still moving pretty fast if its exploding out of the ground, i guess it could just put a smash through/put a big hole in whatever scrin it goes through. Scrin with a big hole in its body is still a dead scrin, even if it was pierced by tiberium.

jfpoliveira12's idea seems like a good one to me, weather contol while interesting could end up seeming too similar to firestorm generator in the way that it actually affects untits.

Testing forgotten superweapon. Maybe something like weather control machine with huge crystals? That creates large lightning storm.
