I have a few suggestions because I see the clan system as very favorable to such conversion. Why not make the game start after the formation of the three kingdoms where the power of the Cao clan is shadowed by the Sima clan and if you provide the start as ruler option, it becomes very interesting for example if you play as Cao Mao (who tried to restore the imperial power against Sima Shi and failed (he was killed when he rebelled against Sima Zhu (sima Shi's successor) but maybe the player won't fail). Give the decision or policy of force the emperor to abdicate with great influence requirement or 100 percent support. Some Cao family loyalists rebelled in the southeast (the rebellion of Guanqiu Jian and Wen Qin in Shouchan 255AD which can be a good starting date) thus you have a faction at war with Wei. In Shu, the Eunuch faction took over the Lui clan and the successor of the legendary strategist Zhuge Liang, Jiang Wei is beset with plots and cannot move against the war-torn Wei until he has enough power to declare war. The Nanman nomades can be another faction. In Wu, a similar situation where another clan became more powerful than the ruling clan. Instead of the old guys, maybe later date three kingdoms will give you more opportunity to explore the full potential of the new political system. It also fits the spirit of the bannerlord game through the idea of a falling civilization divided into warring factions.

Shu
Wu
The Shouchan Rebellion
The Nanman
and you can add other non-chinese tribes in the North, West and South

The story of the three kingdoms shows the rise of the three kingdoms, the wars between the trio and the downfall of each one of that brings the end to years and years of war, in my opinion the most important part of the story is after the rise of each kingdom, not during the rise, idk why no one thinks of making it during the wars between the trio but only before it happens... if you cant make the trio to rise to power and wage war then whats the point of calling it "three kingdoms"? I respect the modders and every modder out there that have made any kind of rotk mod, im not trying to demoralize the modders, but this idea should be one to check out.

because it is a masterpiece and originally the story starts from before the trio rise. To show respect to the original history, every story about the three kingdoms always start from the end of Han dynasty.

Im not saying thats not a masterpiece but im saying exactly as you pointed out: every story about the three kingdoms start from the end of the Han Dynasty. Thats what i say, every mod or game about the three kingdoms tend to start in this period and generally the three kingdoms are never formed properly if the game is an rts for example and i doubt this would happen in a mount and blade mod either. My idea should be to add multiple start dates for variety or add some kind of script that tend to force the universe of the game to divide into three kingdoms, but i would prefer more variety. Rotk is a masterpiece, i really love it, but in games its almost impossible to make the story repeat itself

let me respectfully disagree. The old story is used too much. It is cool but many will do the same. Here we have at least two three kingdoms mods. My idea is to put the dynamics of the clan relations into practice while exploring a neglected part of the story. The end of the three kingdoms. There can be no lack of new factions and heroes if we dig deep into the history of that period. Most importantly, it is the exploration of the puppet ruler position (as Cao Mao). How it would be like to start as a ruler but a ruler that is totally powerless and surrounded by a clan that is stronger and more influential than his. It will cause the modder to expand the political options to conspiracies. There will be other mods that respect the original history but I believe they will give less dynamic political exploration of the potentialities of Mount and Blade Bannerlords.
