Anno domini 1147
After the fall of Edessa in the year 1144, a call to crusade has been made in 1146 to save the remains of the county of Edessa, to counter the constant offensives of the Saracens and to gain perhaps an opportunity to retake the city! The crusaders armies are now ready to start their journey. Huge armies are leaving France and Germania and a fleet has departed from England. In the meantime the proud Armenian principality of Cilicia is fighting for its independance against the Basileia Romaion of Manuil Kommenos. The Romans try to reconquer their ancient power in East-Anatolia. In the South the Fatimid Caliphate of Egypt is harassing the Kingdom of Jerusalem from its mighty fortress of ʿasqalān. The main threat for the christians however is Nur al Din who gathers under his banner Turks, Arabs, Kurds and many vassals. In those times of great troubles are great opportunities given. Will you take them? Will you defend an ideal or seek for more power? Will you crusade, jihad or conquer for your fame? Will you find your own path to salvation?

The mod orientates on historical accuracy and accurate environnements and also a big fun at building your own principality, emirate, sultanate, beylik or kingdom!

Historical accuracy:

- Accurate names of lords, locations and factions.

- Respect of equipments, and warfare.

Environnement accuracy:

- Culturized names ! If you conquer a town or castle the name of it can change depending your culture. Exemple: if you conquer Ravendel as a saracen the name will change to "al Rawandan" other Exemple Ascalon is ʿasqalān under Arab rule. Culturized names for every npc depending their culture. Frank lords will have their frank names. Armenian, Greek or Arab will have their names culturally stylized. Exemple Manuel Kommenos name will be "Manuil Kommenos", Robert of Ravendel will be "Robert de Ravendel" Mickeal of Gerger will be "Mikael Gergerian".

- Multicural factions, many factions will have two troop trees.

- Realistic scenes: Castles and towns will be build on their real relief terrain using heightmaps as Bannerlords scene editor is making use of them.

- Architecture of the period will be most accurate possible using maps to build the castles, and historical research to build 3D models.

Planned factions and leaders:

1 - Principality of Cilicia Thoros II Prince of Cilicia Cultures: Armenians, Greeks, Syriacs

2 - Principality of Antioch Raymond de Poitiers Prince d'Antioche Cultures: Normans, Italians, Greeks Syriacs

3 - County of Edesse Josselin d'Edesse Cultures: Franks, Normans, Armenians, Syriacs

4 - Kingdom of Jerusalem Baudouin III Cultures: Franks

That would be mid east, Egypt and Arabia all europe to be accurate would be a crazy work! Same map more or less as INJ2. Basically the regions of the factions. I will put Edesse in kingdom of Jerusalem faction as the counts of Edesse were vassals of king of Jerusalem, Antioche was the only really independant crusader principality. Don't work much on it due to health problems and Bannerlord development hell but i still think of the factions, gather info on castles etc, still working on it little by little.

Hi I just want to make a suggestion to change the name of the mod. I would ofcourse be playing it but to get the wider community involved and interested, a more impactful title might be beneficial. Example might be "Road to Jerusalem", " A Kingdom of Heaven", "Deus Vult" just to name a few. Looking forward to the progress of this mod.

Dont worry there's plenty of other crusades mods planned with other names indeed. The name of the mod is good for me cause it means everybody in life, if you're religious or not search his own path to salvation. You have totally the rigth to not like it! :) I have another name in mind though that i like also.

I can't really tell you, or i'll just have to create another mod to keep the copyright ;-) Even if nobody really got copyright on this name, it's little like crusade everybody can name his mod with.

I want to make oders as separate factions but i don't know really how to do it, just see this more as a personal dream project! But joining the order and reaching the ranks would totally be in spirit of what i want. Don't worry english not my native language too, i try improve everyday and i couldn't notice if you made a fault :)

Yes, joining the oden is what you need to do on the way to salvation :) In my opinion, mods about the Crusades and without joining the order are no longer Crusades but just mods.
Good luck with your work.

yes it is true a crusade mod without possibility of joining an order is not really fun. Joining assassins too would be fun. I will try to complete the research work soon. Bannerlord modding tools are not very stable so i didn't get into it much, and the game itself is not finished at all which don't motivates me much. I have also boring health problem so i have difficulties learn new things. But Bannerlord development so slow i might have time develop this quietly... Until the day Bannerlord is a good game XD
