The-Infected mod for Half-Life 2

Welcome to The Infected, a Half-Life 2 modification. An epidemic plague has swept throughout the whole United States, causing the “infected” to experience dramatically different changes, both physically and mentally. The Infected act, jump, and run similar to that of monkeys. They are extremely fast, can jump exceptionally high, can climb buildings, and are incredibly unintelligent. They hunt for uninfected humans, looking to force the humans to be another Infected. One tiny drop of blood can make any human become an Infected virtually in an instant.

The countries around the world have not helped the United States yet, because they have no clue as to what the current situation is. There is no reinforcement crew and no knight in shining armor to save the United States from complete devastation. However, there is one group of armed soldiers that help any survivors that still inhabit the ruined country. This lone brigade is the 7th Elite Division of the United States Army. They are the only brigade in the United States that receive and test prototype weapons and also weapons from around the world.

Your mission as a Soldier is to find and exterminate all of the Infected forces, while protecting and saving the civilians. Any cowardly acts will result in immediate termination by your superior officer. Remember, civilian casualties are the last thing that you want to happen.

As an Infected, your mission is to hunt and infect all the remaining Soldiers and civilians that you find. Attacking your own kind will not benefit you at all. There is no priority between Soldiers and civilians, but Soldiers would be the first to attack, seeing as how they have weapons.
