I really like this model. Especially that you tried to distinguish from other mods and mainly from the movies.
Although he seems quite realistic, human, you know ... I would add some green or black aura at least under him ... to make sure that he is only shadow without form, but still able to wear armour. :o)

Edit after Mathijs response: It then yeah :o)
I would be careful to interpret him that way, but ... it can be unique and interesting in the game, something different ... Sauron who takes shape.
You're right concerning movie interpretation, but it's also due the fact that after he was defeated and lost his ring ... we didn't see him directly confront anyone in the books.

Particle FX doesn't translate very well to an image like this. He'll have effects in the game.

Also... he wasn't shadow without form, I'm pretty sure. Not even during his Necromancer years. What little description Tolkien offered of Sauron's appearance always hinted at a physical body, though hideous and terrible in his later years, once he could no longer change shape. In a letter, Tolkien said that 'The form that [Sauron] took was that of a man of more than human stature, but not gigantic'. I think the whole shadowy cloud-like business was a movie invention.

yes. a very clever aspect of the necromancer version, not a boring shadow but indeed a weaker version of his former self.
now for his shape a have a question and i would like to question tolkien himself if he was alive ; it is said that the nazgul could only take form from magically enchanched armor made by sauron, or else thay could not take material shape. what stopped sauron for making an identical armor to himself for taking shape after his defeat??
well this model is the answer :P

I like that it is not so strongly hinted at that everyone in the world could tell this is Sauron, just enough to be something like the Witch-King or the some strong servant of Mordor. A true subtle Sauron! (though a particle enough would make him seem more menacing). This mod is so beautiful and a great 'heir' to bfme 2 :)

The Dark Lord rises in Mirkwood, he searches for that which was taken from him and seeks to bring an end to those who oppose him

Even, in the movie, they say "There is a necromancer who can raise the dead". If they knew the necromancer is the Sauron then there should be no battles in the lonely mountain but in Dol Guldur.

I really liked the model and it is more realistic and accurate than other mods I played before. Maybe at level 10, necromancer becomes the shadow, fire version of Sauron like in the movie. Otherwise, he needs to hide as a necromancer.

Good Job, Age of The Ring Team. It is perfect.

Love the look of the model, hope to see more Dol Guldur faction stuff soon, as they are shaping up to what would be the faction I most play
