Not at all. Azog was removed because we didn't like him, his character in the films, or his design. Him being dead at the time when Age of the Ring is set doesn't help either.

He's definitely the coolest villain in whole LOTR and Hobbit movies. His design and evil charisma makes him one of the most iconic characters in whole Tolkien world, despite the fact that he is very far from the original Azog in terms of his story and design. Hobbit movies have some flaws, but Azog... that dude isn't one of them for sure

lol what he doesn't really do anything special, he's just an evil strong orc in the first place who wants to kill everyone, how is that "evil charisma and one of the most iconic characters"

Great design! I am all for book acurate Bolg.
But maybe Azog can stay as The Defiler, a Dol Guldur mounted zombie hero.

when i first saw this notification, i was like "they already used the badass original Bolg design for Krimpul, so it's probably going to be the one from the movies" and i was disappointed. then i opened the notification and saw it, and i said to myself "there is one i could follow. there is one i could call the faction leader of the Misty Mountains."

love the original design. keep up the good work, AotR team

Hmmm I was a bit shocked at first that Azog is being replaced. He was one of my favorite heroes. Why?
Is Bolg of the North the son of Azog? Or is it a different character? I've never heard of this character before, he also looks different from Bolg in the movie.
I'm curious :)

Pal, even if I think that Hobbit movies were really good ( while Lotr is just perfect ), I can agree that Azog ( especially in the 3rd part was so disgusting, acting like a weak coward ) and yes, Bold design is really far from being impressive...
But, it is just my opinion or maybe someone would agree, that once you are adding something inspired only by your imagination, it works well, still you are going backwards from the original game and the movie universe created by PJ and Weta.
I will play the mod anyway, just wanted to share with my feelings, no offence please.
Once more thing, still want to imagine that your Bolg of the North is not Son of Azog but just one more Bolg ... ( these orcs , you know, maybe they have a lack of imagination and they are giving their leaders similar names huh ? :)

When I dislike what Weta did and decide to deviate, I see that as going forward, not backward. Being creative and making your own ideas happen is a good thing.

If he was lime green, or had tusks coming out of his mouth, or his shoulder's are 40k size, or had a body like Arnold Schwarzenegger, I would agree that he looks too Warcrafty.

1) The model is super, a decent option
2) It is a terrible pity that Azog leaves this faction (given the fact that he lived and existed relatively not so long ago)
Heroes in the Misty Mountains are few, I expected that the Offspring of Azog will be added, but not to replace it
3) in any case, this is your decision, just like your mod, thank you for your work!
4) maybe there will be at least a map where you can hire Azog as a hero?
(As I recall you have a map of Erebor where Azog still has a hand and he's been there since the start of the game along with Bolg) I hope there will be more where he is in armor)

I really like the look of Azog: ( but it's your choice, so I respect it.
On a general note, if you really want to create a lot of new things why not make a whole new faction (for example Rhun). In any case, it would be better than replacing (awesome) things you have already done. Just my opinion.

They already have created a super original faction from scrap and inspirations from here and there! I give you...Haradwaith.
We have hints here and there about the Haradrim and what was going on down there. Like for example the Numenorean colonization and years of later oppression done by black numenoreans leading to their decent onto Saurons service.
The Corsairs, the Gondorian kin-strife, Creatures known as Half-trolls.
All hints for a Harad faction.
other than that we know nothing about the Easterlings, they live a chiefdom type nomadic life like Mongols or the Huns.

Oh yes :D I can't wait for this faction <3. I love the fact that they took inspiration from "LOTR Strategy Battle Game Book, Games Workshop" and inventing a ton of elements.
Yes, that is precisely the point: Rhun is important, but in reality very little is known (which leaves a lot of room for imagination). My favorite units to play are invented by them (like Cargást or the Undead Monstrosity).

Yea I hear ya.
Even when we have alot to cover in Rhun by the very little knowledge we have from there, like the blue wizards, the Avari, and the 4 great Dwarf holds from the other fathers being stationed their.
I love the Undead Troll (Monstrosity) as well. I wish we could have Werewolves instead of Black wargs :(

I too am also hyped about the Games Workshop inspired units!

Haradwaith was chosen over Rhun because we felt there was so much more to offer than what we would've gotten with the Easterlings. It having preexisting lore also made it much easier for us to come up with a good faction plan in which we could then add our own artistic choices to later. At the end of day though, we just find Harad far more interesting than Rhun and with limited faction slots, we'd rather work on the things we find interesting. Plus having Easterlings in Mordor is something we like as a team, so we don't feel any need to replace them.

I love the model but I'm not the biggest fan of the legs section. It somehow looks like he's wearing baggy trousers. There's something about the boots as well that looks a little off.

I like him! Will Smaug and other Hobbit era units be removed too, I’m thinking Gundabad stuff, as you seem to be going for a more Lord of the Rings based look for MM? Great Mod.

Smaug, The Great Goblin and goblin towners, will be remaining. Misty Mountains is still Hobbit era, or rather Hobbit *book* era not hobbit trilogy era. The team is including the Three Trolls after all!

To be honest, I despise the design of Bolg. It's always good to take creative freedom, but it would have fitted better when designed accordingly to the movie. Azog would have been a better fit, especially considering he was more fleshed out in the movie. #teamazog

Just keep the characters such as Azog or Bolg the way they used to look like in the movies, I absolutely dont understand why you removed them, your own versions look crap and are useless. Didnt like the 7. update at all due to this sorry

Bolg is the new faction leader for the Misty Mountains in 7.0, replacing Azog, who will no longer be a hero in the faction.
