The Ancients mod for Half-Life

One space race, one nation at the brink of destruction, one secret plan.
In the year 2018 space travel was a fact. The czech professor Dr. Carl Milosovich and his team had discovered a way for a vessel to travel up to 3 times the speed of light. After a large demonstration for the worlds leaders, Dr Milosovich was offered insane amounts of money to sell his engine to different nations and other parties. He was also selected to recieve the nobel price of Physics, but at the very ceremony he was murdered and all his research stolen.

A few months later information started to leak about a top secret american project, a spaceship, using Dr. Milosovichs stolen research. It was also leaked that the doctor's murderer was a CIA operative.

The Russians, furious that the Americans was keeping this technology from them declared war on the Americans. Nuclear war followed, causing constant nuclear winter all over the planet. Russian spies copied the doctor's research and they started working on their own spaceship. Both spaceships left earth in the summer 2020 to colonize other planets leaving earth, and everyone left on it to rot.

You take on the role of a team of Europeans, fighting to get a foothold in space.
