The purpose of this mod is to recreate models and sounds that have been modified during development.Although there is not much such content, as the Beta version of Opposing Force itself has not been leaked to the Internet or made public. All we have is a few dozen screenshots taken by developers and beta testers, as well as promo art and pictures from videogame magazines of the 90s, where in the illustrations you can see something that was changed/deleted in retail.I had to dig deep to find screenshots, promotion art and other materials. On this screenshots you can see the comparison of the models from the release and from the beta.
The mod turned out to be really small, but quite interesting. I noticed that there is only one single mod on the Internet about Opposing Force Beta (I don't know how it is, whether it is closed or maybe not).Hopefully we'll see more projects about an early version of this add-on in the future.
HOW TO INSTALL: To install the mod, add its contents to the gearbox_hd folder (in case you have hd models enabled or at least this folder has not been deleted). If you do not have this folder or for some reason the models do not appear, then place the contents of the archive just into the gearbox folder. Gearbox_addon or valve_addon will not work here, the mod will only run not completely, without some materials such as a new menu.

Hey a new beta press demo build was released and there are tons of beta models including sounds, you guys should check that out asap and bring those to the mod.
Interesting i guess? But why did you include other models that had no changes at all? Like the agrunt, gman and others.
Also you could've just easily edited the retail Otis to look like the beta one by getting Barney.mdl's helmet and the beta face texture from the playermodel (and arms from the other Otis head) like this: Puu.sh (and maybe edit the head mesh a little bit). And not converting the playermodel itself to npc (since the playermodel is a butchered version of the real thing that Gearbox made just for the multiplayer).
You forgot to give the Pit Drone its mind control device and the Voltigore texture could have been more closer to the earlier design, seeing as the promo picture for the Voltigore shows how the creature looked very clearly.
Other than that looks good, as you said, small but interesting mod.
