Tactical Fleet Simulator (TFS) is a total overhaul with the aim of transforming Homeworld2 into a tactics-oriented strategy game. Initial versions aimed for a more immersive tactical "simulator" orientation, the current version provides a more refined and consistent RTS experience.

Graphical anomalies occur and the badges will not appear on units when playing with shadows enabled, but aside from that the issue with badges not showing up in v2.5.1 has been resolved. I suggest you disable shadows in the video options menu when playing TFS.

Tactical Fleet Simulator v2.5.1 Released: 6/22/08
After a long period of stagnant development, the TFS mod has finally been updated to version 2.5. I have decided to release the mod prematurely so those who want to play the mod at higher resolutions and play the campaign mode can do so. Initially, v2.5.1 was going to include a new menu and loading screen background image to replace the archaic ones currently in use. The mod can be downloaded from the download section.

Major Fixes:
The mod now works with resolutions of 1600x1200 and higher, including 16:10 aspect ratios for wide-screen users.
The campaign missions are now all passable. There are still a few minor issues though, namely with mission 07 and mission 09 in which certain fighter or corvette squadrons remain idle in their start position throughout the duration of the game. To remedy this, use the Reconnaissance Fighter sensor ping ability to locate any remaining enemy combat units if you have completed all the objectives and are still unable to proceed to the next phase.
The CPU player AI has been improved and now functions properly on Standard, Aggressive and Defensive settings on most maps.

Minor Changes and Additions:
CnlPepper's parallax shaders have been added to the mod. As a result, some textures of large objects, such as the Gehenna asteroids and Tanis base are askew.
Axel's DDI-82 Ion Destroyer model has been added as a replacement to the previous DDI-70 Ion Destroyer.
The FF/C-12B and CF-17B launch their missiles more frequently.
The AF-19D Fighter-Bomber is more survivable against hull-defense weapons and interceptors.
Modified fighter and corvette unit caps for Low and Moderate settings.
Streamlined in-game unit descriptions.
Re-balancing of many units and weapons to ensure more balanced gameplay.

Pending Updates:
A replacement of the existing sub-par menu and loading background screens.
Streamlining or modifying the campaign missions and CPU player AI.
The standard re-balancing of ships or weapons after v2.5.1 has been thoroughly evaluated by players.
The possible addition of bump-mapping to all TFS ships.
