Tactical Fleet Simulator (TFS) is a total overhaul with the aim of transforming Homeworld2 into a tactics-oriented strategy game. Initial versions aimed for a more immersive tactical "simulator" orientation, the current version provides a more refined and consistent RTS experience.
TFS v2.5.5 (1/24/09). If you are using a Macintosh computer, download the TFSv2.5.m version. Changes from v2.5.3 are listed below.

Changes in v2.5.5
-FFS-46 and FFR-33 frigates now repair friendly ships at a faster rate than resource collectors.
-BF-16D and FA-14B weapons do more damage to frigates and less damage to Capital ships.
-BF-16C SRR-8 weapon upgrade damage has been reduced against capital ship armor (640 to 504 per shot); requires advanced research module to upgrade.
-Removed the FI-10B kamikaze capability because it caused collision issues for other units.
-CVG-103 upgraded ASM-50 lacunher research no longer needs HMWS research instead VL-LRCM-73 now requires HMWS research.
-Corrected the bug with HGN RWS platform research not working correctly.
-CC-76 Medium Cruiser guns are stronger against capital ship armor, CVE-74 Assault Carrier has been made less effective against capital ships relative to CC-76 and destroyers.
-The Monitor has an additional ACP-50 Flak turret added.
-The FFF-43 Flak frigate and FFE-43 Escort Frigate unit cap categories have been merged.
-FB-11C and BF-16B Strategic Bomber light missile damage has been decreased by 50%, while their missile upgrade research time has been slightly increased.
-Megaliith shaders have been disabled, but there are still some graphic glitches with their textures.
-Some buildable MWS turrets / hardpoints now require additional facilities to be built before they are accessible.
-The third level in the campaign has been successfully tested to verify it is passable without any bugs.

Single Player Campaign:
-Mover and Drone armor increased, maximum velocity of Drones decreased. New missile for Drones.
-FF-17A MRM-17 missile proximity-burst damage has been decreased to 50% against Drones/Movers.
-BF-16D Assault Bomber weapons can now be upgraded as in multiplayer.
-Mission 15 no longer crashes to the desktop when the planet killers arrive.
Units (Ships/Subsystems/Missiles):
-Hiigaran LRCT-26 MWS turret correctly fires in salvos of two instead of four.
-Fighter MRM and SRM missile agility has been greatly increased; SRMs have smaller proximity-burst effects but are more agile than other missile types.
-Hiigaran MWS UMP-6/8 unguided rocket turrets now have a high rate of fire and short trail lengths.
-DDI-82 ASM-25 missile damage has been slightly increased against Capital Ship armor.
-FI-10B turn radius has been decreased; it can now hit stationary targets such as probes.
-FI-10B kamikaze attack does twice as much damage as it once did; 20000 units of damage per squadron when upgraded.
-Vaygr BBLG-109 Missile Array is now destroyable if it suffers lots of hits due to enemy fire.
-FF/B-11E Strike Bomber ASM-30 and LR-CM-5 rate of fire has been decreased to 20 and 10 seconds, respectively. LR-CM-5 damage has been reduced against Fighters.
-FFF-43 Flak Frigate turrets are more accurate against Fighters and Corvettes (15% to 20% against Fighters).
-BF-16D Assault Bombers split into groups of 2 instead of 3 when attacking targets.
-Hiigaran FFG-45 ASM-19 missiles are more maneuverable.
-FF-25, FF-17, FF-11 and FF/C-12 cannon damage has been reduced against Platform Armor.
-Minelayer Corvette mine detection range slightly increased.
-Monitor armor upgrade values have been increased from 1.6x to 2.0x; Monitor ion cannon does 4x as much damage against Frigate armor.
-CF-17E Pulsar Fighter now launches two SRM-16 missiles.
-Vaygr CLG-102 cruiser armor (90k-100k) and missile rate of fire (40 sec-30 sec) has been increased.
-Vaygr FA-14 Attack Fighter cannon accuracy against fighters has been decreased; laser damage against Capital Ship armor has been significantly decreased.
-Vaygr DDG-92 Destroyer does more damage against capital ships (now equal to standard DDG-90 in that respect).
-Vaygr FF/C-12B and Hiigaran CF-17B Cluster-Missile-armed fighter mass has been increased, decreasing their acceleration and maneuverability.
-RLF-14 Scout EMP bomb accuracy has been increased when fired at strikecraft: 0.1 - 0.2 (Fighters), 0.2 - 0.4 (Corvettes).
Scripts (Build/Research/Weapon effects/etc):
-BF-16D HLC upgrade now requires BF-16D Tech.
-AF-19D Fighter-Bomber attack run break distance has been increased to prevent them from colliding with their target.
-CC-76 cruisers now use frontal-attack scripts when engaging Destroyer-class ships.
-PLC-50RF hull defenses on Capital ships do 50% their original damage against Capital Ship armor.
-All plasma bomb weapons have an improved accuracy when fired against Fighters and Corvettes.
-New Dynamic Unit Cap setting.
-All Platforms now have light EMP shielding.
-Vaygr DDG-92 Destroyer now only requires one research item to be completed after normal DDG-90 tech is researched.

sorry i didnt put this in first post but just happenend then... first time i played worked fine then when i tried to play it again the shortcut said conflict with disc emulator or somfin please help really like the mod

1) Do you have the v1.1 patch installed?
2) Are you using Windows Vista? If so, do you have DEP and UAC disabled and the latest drivers for your video card?
3) Did you create a shortcut to run the TFSv2.5.big with?
its not working because nothing comes up it just says....The procedure entry piont ?SaveAll@LuaConfig@@QAEX_N0@z could not be located in the dynamic link libary luaconfig.dll....can anyone tell me what the **** is going on!!!
now it just goes black and takes me back to the desktop

Uninstall and reinstall then patch to 1.1 and install TFS
It should work then :)
I have noticed a similar problem, the game would start up fine (the menu screen). I could mess with all the options. I could start a game, but as soon as the loading bar filled up, it would crash to the desktop (without any further issues). Im not sure what the current issue is, but I do know, that, at least on my cruddy computer, the older 2.5.0 version works great. Give it a try, and tell me if it works on your computers.
Are you by any chance using an integrated graphics chipset? The Intel integrated graphics chipsets will not work with TFS, and will cause the game to crash to the desktop immediately after it finishes loading.
There are two workarounds:
1) Use one of the older versions of TFS that are still available for download.
2) Extract the "TFSv2.5.big" or "TFSv2.6.big" contents, delete the "shaders" folder, than re-package the files into a .big file.
Actualy yes, I am useing an intregated graphics card. I will look into this. (currently, I find this version 2.5.0 for the vegar to have an extramly high advantage. IE, their cheapest friget FFG-32 is better than every other hiigaran friget)
Also, are there no shaders in the 2.5.0 version? as I said, this one does work. Any ideas why it does?.
Also, for more information. I have a macbook (GMA 950, I run the game with no shadows and high on everything else) which I duel-boot with windows XP. I can get all the mac versions to work fine, but the windows versions crash (not the 2.5.0)
However, because there is no cross platform support, I need the windows version to play with my friends.
Also, how do I open the .big files
