As you can probably guess and many of you already know, we are back, kind of. I have been back for a while now, helping out The Last Days of the Third Age, porting it to Warband and stabilizing it with the help of the TLD team. Why help them? Well, TLD was technically finished in 2011, with most of the original team disbanded and everything wrapped up I thought it would be a great candidate for a first Warband port, it certainly deserved it.

It's actually more complex and rich in mechanics and technically superior in many aspects than SWC. I came back to modding in the fall of 2014, finished the TLD Warband port in early 2015, and in year and a half we managed to stabilize it and make it fully open-source. Now TLD has found a new life, still supporting two games in tandem (and working in Linux and macOS), translated in eight languages, leading the subscription charts of the Steam Workshop (with 194k unique subscribers and a 99% positive rating), and is being developed again by Khamukkamu, with occasional artistic contributions and constant supervision by Merlkir.

With that almost done and the release of the Mount&Blade sequel looming on the horizon I thought some months ago that picking up SWC, porting it to Warband and doing some much needed polishing could be a good idea to end my modding 'career' in a high note, seeing that I receive constant (uh) 'reminders' about it every week and TheStarWarsGuru and other teams have tried it with various degrees of success and permission.

So, the 8 of August I started to plan and set up everything, working at a methodic and relaxed pace with the confidence and experience gained from my previous attempt, releasing an initial private beta (for Windows and Linux) in the Steam Workshop for select testers, culminating in a public release the 25th. This caused quite a bit of commotion in places like reddit, but after the surprise came the demands of manual downloads. The day of the release I searched for our mate Vector to add him as contributor and get up to speed (he has been busy doing one of the most popular mods for Prison Architect, you guessed it: Star Wars - Imperial Architect). Along the way, and in an unexpected turn of events, original creator HokieBT appeared from nowhere and started contributing stylistic dialog changes.

Yesterday we made available manual downloads and nightly patches for those that don't use Steam. While this release marks something I have been meaning to do for a long time, there's still work to do. While I can't predict the future or say if the others are going to continue as we were before, this is already something many of you wanted but very few expected.

Transitioning to nightly patches will certainly make development in Mount&Blade 1.011 and Warband more visible, reducing waiting times over the traditional model of cyclic radio silence while crunching in the cave for five years and a occasional file dump (if any!), a model still so frequent in the modding scene and causing so many premature project deaths. The nightlies are basically small incremental patches generated right after every revision, where the players can point out errors in short feedback cycles of constant polishment. Was an innovative method originally tested for TLD and worked extremely well for us.

Thanks for reading, patience is always rewarded!

SOLUTION to lightsaber missing sound and can't fight on ship for RGL error = add the base mod, add the compatibility patch so it works on warband, don't add the nightly.

I'm going to be the responsible person here and go back to every single place on the entire internet that I asked this question and post the solution instead of being an evil monster who just says "Fixt it ;^)" but never says HOW they fixed it.

PLEASE HELP!
I just grabbed Mount&Blade;:Warband off of gog with 0% DRM which is great but I've encountered two bugs that really tick me off pretty bad. here's what I'm using and the issue's I'm experiencing. I hope I can bug you guys for a little tech support in case you encountered the same issues and were able to fix it alright.

I want to say that I'm not asking this question here as my first attempt, and it's only after hours of research and digging through years old abandoned forums for both mods and the game itself so old that there's spiderwebs in the corners and found no results that I have excepted that there is no obvious solution or that I just suck at searching for some reason. I only come to beg for help here after I made the effort myself and failed miserably more than once in a row.

This is what I'm using and what's happening.

I'm using the latest current 2018 version of Mount and Blade: Warband
>1.173 from gog (their 1.172 hotfix refuses to run because the version they offer is already a higher version, so I don't know why it's offered)
(additionally, the patch available from the tale worlds website refused to acknowledge that Mount and Blade: Warband is installed and refuses to patch the game, but the game might be to the latest version already anyway, I just found it to be kind of odd that you can't use their patch on their game just because it's from gog)
I'm using the latest version of swconquest
>094 final
The latest compatibility patch
>094 final wbcompat
and the latest nightly
>094 final wbcompat nightly 2017.01.08-20.05_r1190

>Windows 10
>gog version of mount and blade: warband to be exact
>using the starwars conquest mod (swconquest) which is originally made for mount and blade but has patches that allow it to work with warband
>I added all the patches and the game is runs great except for two things that totally break
>If you try to attack a ship and don't choose to land and fight on a planet and instead choose to fight on their ship, you get an error like this
>game crashes
>RGL WARNING: big red X, "incorrect base name: 0" (click ok)
>new window pops up
>RGL ERROR: "Error unable to find interior mesh 0" (click ok)
I assume that the game is having problems finding and loading the location and the graphics for the interior ship fight area or areas, but I honestly have no idea how I should go about fixing this without breaking something else horribly since I'm not highly skilled in computers. Has anyone ever encountered this issue before, and know how to fix it?

Does anyone know how to trick the game into using an alternate fight scene location so that when I select to fight on the ship, I can just load a different hangar location that the game knows how to load, so it still feels like I'm fighting on a ship and can possibly raid and board enemy ships? I feel like I'm missing out on major game mechanics if I can't actually fight on their ships.

Another issue that I noticed immediately when the game started was in the tutorial and the rest of the game as far as I know, when you swing the lightsaber you just hear "Whoosh" like a stick or a sword. I have seen other people's videos and there is an obvious lightsaber sound effect. This really breaks the immersion for me...

Everything else seems to work fairly well except for a very rare random crash that occurred but stopped when I lowered the graphics settings a bit. The only other time I saw anyone with the same problems as me were in old posts saying "LOL nvm fixt it ;^)" that didn't explain how they fixed it, or posts with the actual swconquest mod maker actually fixing these exact sets of problems in years old versions of the mod by patching it (very old by now patches). I can only assume that the problems came up again now as brand new issues again. Some people say it's the gog version only.

I know you're not my personal army of slaves, but if anyone can help me I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure there are very few if any warband mods on Xbox One. There has never been much mods for games on console.

so even though the "final release" is still buggy as all hell, its not being updated anymore? its fun when it works but its anoying to deal with all the bugs and there is only a certain point I can get up to without being able to make my own faction, or gain more land from whoever im sworn to, I took at least 10 total planets if not more and every time I didn't get them, i have almost 1k renown and for sure should be able to get more land

Afaik there are no longer active modders working on SWC, apart from Khamukkamu, but he only then and now, since his major focus is on TLD. However, there is another modprojet using SWC as base

Would be great if someone took over where this modder left it off and patched and added new stuff to it. Overall this mod is great but it's so buggy at times where playing the mod is just not fun, also there is really op stuff such as those illegal weapons where you can literally take out a 400 person army by yourself.

This was my favorite M&B mod back in the day. I still really like it. However it sucks that it was abandoned.
