The Twilight Archon is getting ready to make his debut!
In the alpha versions of SC2, one of the original incarnations of the Twilight Archon was actually a temporary summon that 3 High Templars channeled. If one of the High Templar were killed, the Twilight Archon would vanish.
There was this really neat visual effect for the High Templar, they all stood in a triangle and a runic glowing circle appeared under them then the archon spawned in the center of them. :D
That was very cool concept, we really wanted to add it.
We abandoned the idea because it was hard to implement and it doesn't seem to add good tactics to the player (Regular archons and High templars worked better).
Maybe that mechanic could be added to the Hybrid faction.
Great job; I would like to give a try to the beta.
The first closed demo is planned to be released between April 22 and April 29. We're going to post an article when we confirm a date.

What abilities it will have?
I was thinking on medium range attack (8 range) no splash and some spells (feedback + plasma surge)

The unit is still in development.
Our current ideas are:
*Melee unit (zealot like), to distinguish from the regular Archon, no splash.
*Spells
-Plasma surge.
*Passive skill
-Twilight walk: When killed, the unit is queued in production in a special building (one building per player) without aditional cost.
Other ideas we have are:
-(Spell/ability) SCII Alarak's Deadly Charge.
-(Passive) SCII Avenger's Emergency recall.
-(Spell/ability) Blink
-(Spell/ability) Recall (Teleports the Archon to an allied unit)
This is WIP, suggestions are welcome.
