I thought somebody already successfully made functional beam graphics? IIRC they managed to hijack BW's drawing and upgraded it to be able to support drawing a graphic from point A to point B

Sahasrahla was able to create beam weapons: Moddb.com

Sadly, the code isn't public and, if it were, I'm not able to understand how SC fills a Grp right now (GPTP's grp structs may be incomplete). That's why I came with this aproach.

Anyway, still working in native beam drawing.
