Hello, Dagovax and I have decided to continue work on the Star Wars Total War mod for Rome: Total War- it's been ported to the Alexander Expansion due to it being required in order to have heroes like Darth Vader in the campaign.

The original creator of this mod, and the MODDB-page- SiskinEDGE -has also written to me that he liked the prospect of a completed SWTW-mod, and he created a new group for this mod, invited me and Dagovax as co-developers and gave us increased administrative rights on this page, while at the same time removing the rights for players to upload stuff freely. So SiskinEDGE said he were going to keep an eye out on the progress of this mod, and hence me and Dagovax are permitted to continue the work on this mod.

There existed an old mod with three releases from 2008-2009 made by SiskinEDGE- this version hadn't been updated since 2009 and used re-skinned Rome: Total War models of units. It only had infantry, but did however include Star Wars sound for blasters, a new UI, new loading screens based on the Prequel trilogy, Star Wars music from both the Prequel trilogy and the original trilogy. It had some custom battlemaps for the custom battles with a Star Wars theme, and it had good unit/unit_info cards.

It lacked a campaign map completely, it didn't have new custom Star Wars themed banners, names for the factions, quotes and many animations were missing or lacking.

I previewed this mod for Dagovax Sirrianus, one of the main creators (two) of Total War: 1942, and he liked the idea of continuing this project. I had a bunch of Freedom Force models based on Star Wars, and Freedom Force is an old game from 2005- i gave him the idea to try and use them in Rome: Total War and provided him with these models. He succeeded in importing the Storm Trooper, and later other units as well- he had some issues with the spaceships and some mechs but after finding a way to use an older version of a modelling program he managed to find a way to import all the FF models to RTW. The original mod had been made for Rome: Total War- Dagovax moved it to the Alexander expansion. He did also create new banners for the Galactic Empire, the Rebel Alliance and currently the Galactic Empire have quite the few units while the Rebel Alliance only has four. Dagovax also made new animations for the units, or ported animations that he had already created for the 1942 mod. New projectiles for the blasters, Deathstar, AT-AT etc have been created- even green laser bombs for the Tie Bombers. And he has created a custom campaign map based on Star Wars Galaxy- which is still lacking most of the settlements (to be planets).

I've uploaded a few WIP videos of the recent version that i'm going to show-off here, as they are simply too big for the video upload feature of MODDB.

If you'd like Dagovax Sirrianus to continue the development of this mod, then comment on pictures, videos on his Youtubesite Youtube.com or on this site, on the Total War Center forum on this link Twcenter.net and simply show that you want this mod completed.

He have said that if there isn't enough interest in the project then he might end the development on it. And he is the only guy who can create new animations, new projectiles etc from scratch that i know is willing to do this work. There are other modellers, but he is the only active modder rigging models for this mod currently as well- needless to say without Dagovax Sirrianus the mod will die. So show him that you want the development to continue by commenting on this site etc.

We will probably get a Patreon up at a later stage where it will be posisble to support Dagovax by donating, something that will keep him working on the mod. Otherwise the risk is that the development might end, if there isn't enough interest in the project.

I don't have the skills to get a mod like this running, due to it being far too unfinished at it's current stage. Remember that all my mods had the models either made already, or i had a modeller who rigged them while i coded them into the mod. Dagovax is such a modeller, but he is so much more than that- without him the mod won't be continued at it's current stage. If the mod has all the models finished, and a map- then I would be able to continue work on it by myself. But in the current state that's impossible.

For the last couple of months development has been postponed due to that my parents have been refitting the kitchen and I had to help with laying floor tiles and removeing wall tiles and such witch hasn't left me much time to work on the mod, for this I apologise. but now development is continueing like before the Main Units for the factions have been mainly completed and the old rome total war units have been removed from custom battle mode. The new units might in the next Release be available to be recruited in campaign mode however it would purely be for haveing a muck around and wouldn't be balenced nor have a galatic map.

some of the New units are Chazrach slaves for the yuuzhar vong and Mandolorian Grenadiers, but the following factions will be included in the next release:
Republic
Empire
Rebelion
Corperate Sector Authority
Yuuzhar Vong
Mandolorians

CSA are corperate owned systems that have a lease on thousands of systems in the outer rim of the empire where espos troopers keep the peace with blasters kept on fully automatic mode. They are trained to keep control of riots and can even don Riot Gear and use flamethrowers when necessary (in game they are seperate units). They also recruit some of the best of the older memebers of the stormtroopers where a strech in CSA space is seen as the closest thing a stromtrooper can have to a retirement. CSA have also been known to use Police droids to keep the Line in the face of hostile civilians.

The Yuuzhar vong are Extra-Galatic Invaders who dispise technology and use Biological wepons and interstellar transport, their hate of technology came from when their own galexy was nearly torn apart by two feuding droid civilisations when the biologicals rose up against them. Their Invasion began 25 years after the battle of yavin 4 brought the Fledgeling New republic to it's Knees until the Liveing Planet Zonama Sekot Intervened. Their warriors fight with flexible amphistaffs instead of ranged blasters with masses of chazrach slaves acting as cannon fodder, they have a Theocratic society dominated by a ridgid caste system.

One Clone ARC Trooper called alpha-02 went rogue and returned to mandolore and personally rebuilt the Mandolorian people into an organisation called the Mandolorian Protectors from Mandolorian Mercenarys and various mandolorian Factions like the Mandolorian Supercommandos and the Death watch who during the Mandolorian civil war fought each other. A Mandolorian is trained from birth for combat and live for it and comprise some of the strongest fighters (other than force users) the galexy has ever known. it was once said 'Armor is not what makes a Mandalorian. Armor is simply a manifestation of an impenetrable, unassailable heart'.

Dagovax has written to me in private that that would be a priority after he has completed "Total War: 1942" which is still in need of custom settlements for all the factions.

Another RTW modder wrote over at TWC that he would like to create a SW based map, which would speed up the process a lot if he did- but as we have nothing created yet (only an old video showing what could have been a campaign map in Medieval 2) the campaign is still very far off.

Expect a custom battle demo to be the focus at the moment. Dagovax have already finished most of the Galactic Empire (Storm Troopers, Imperial Scouts (Speeders), AT-AT, AT-ST (with incredible new animations), Tie Fighters (using the 1942 Jet anims), Red Guards/Royal Guards (of Palpatine), Darth Vader himself and now the Death Star.

For the Rebel Alliance he has finished the Millenium Falcon and a Marksman unit. He had some trouble with the Rebel Troopers and i'm about to try and aid him with that.

Unfortunately for me i can't do much at this stage due to Dagovax not only rigging the models, but also creating their unit cards (which i could've done) and implementing them into the game through coding (also something i could do), and as such i will have to wait until text-work is needed.

As for the campaign map, i would be able to do gameplay on a map- but i'd need a map first.

Thank you for your reply :-) ! - and thank you for the mods that you created I tried GOT 4.9 it is cool! - if you are interested I can create combat maps on star wars empire at war and I have already hacked XML files so if that is enough close I would be happy to give you support :-)! in all thank you and I hope to see a campaign map on this star wars mod :-D!

Thanks, but you should write to Dagovax when it comes to this mod. I delivered the idea and the initial models but he is the man working on the new stuff. I'm mostly just being the guy posting news here currently.

Hello, a guy at TWC said he'd wish to try his hand on doing a map, but i could try this link as well.

Thanks for the support man. Obviously Dagovax is the guy doing most of the work at this stage.

The issue would be units for the Separatists etc, but we do have some stuff for the Republic and the Trade Federation. I believe we have a good Count Dooku model but not that many confederate units.

Have you thought about the lego star wars games? The models are probably lowpoly and the droids from the game are perfect if you'd rescale the body parts to realistic sizes.

Maybe later when I have more time I couldmake a few units for your mod if you like. Good luck.

I have a lot of high poly models which look very realsitic, even for a rome engine.

And all models will have lower quality models for lower PC builds..

I will also create sprites to have maximum performance
