Star Wars: Interregnum is an upcoming mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion that builds off of the highly successful Enhanced 4X Mod. Fleeing the unknown terror that is chasing the Vasari, the factions of Sins of a Solar Empire stumble on a temporary wormhole that takes them to a galaxy far, far away. The sudden arrival of armadas with trillions of refugees and thousands of warships between the events of Episodes 5 & 6 forever alters the Star Wars universe and plunges the galaxy into an unprecedented period of chaos and violence. Begun, a new conflict has.
For those of you not following the E4X mod page, this is the first time you might hear that the next update of E4X and Interregnum will be allow anti-structure cruisers like the Broadside Cruiser and Assault Frigate Mrk. II to attack standard ships as well as space stations. The intend is that will make these ships more useful to human players. In addition to space stations, antistructure cruisers are quite good against titans, but their damage dwindles to near nothing against smaller and smaller targets.
This required a bit of a rework to the Broadside cruiser. Most antistructure cruisers inflict a debuff on space stations and starbases. This will remain true, but the Broadside also had splash damage that could be dealt to any target next to the structure. To make this ship more like its real counterpart, we reduced the splash damage a bit but allowed it to apply to any target it fires on.
Expect a new update with little fixes and tweaks for Rebellion 1.90 to be out soon.
About time. Got really annoyed building the Mk.II's only to realize they couldn't engage other ships. I also got to thinking about those torpedoes on the TEC ship. I doubt a ship could survive getting hit by one of those.
Great I love using Broadside cruisers and I feel like they would be great long range anti-capital ships or at the very least anti-fighter because of the fact there known for Diamond Boron Missiles.
The splash damage does affect fighters, but it's kind of hard for that to work consistently since the enemy fighters are more likely to be close to you then other enemy ships.
