Star Wars: Interregnum is an upcoming mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion that builds off of the highly successful Enhanced 4X Mod. The end of 2016 was bittersweet for Star Wars fans. While we gained a very good new film into the pantheon of our fandom, it took away something even more precious.
Carrie Fisher, the actress who gave us Princess Leia, passed away on December 27th, 2016, but her legacy will continue to live on in the force and our hearts. Fisher, along with George Lucas, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford was truly instrumental to the success of Star Wars, and without her strong performance it is safe to say this mod would not exist.
In recognition of her life, those of us on the Interregnum team have posted this epitaph, in order to send her off with the full honors she deserves. May she find peace, knowledge, serenity, and harmony as she takes one last voyage across the stars to become one with the force.
She actually died on my birthday of all days. Then her mother the day after some say died of a broken heart, it is an almost chilling thought that such a thing could be possible. Even if it was coincidence.
But yes it is sad to know shes gone. I always feel it's a waste when people are taken away before they can finish something. I feel bad that they are probably going to have to cut out Leia in Episode 9 after hearing she had such a big role in episode 8 which they just finished filming.
My great grandparents died within three days of each other, and my nan within a year of my grandad.
I guess sometimes the sheer shock of losing someone is enough to cause a person to deteriorate, sometimes fast and sometimes slow.
I am wondering what they're going to do for Leia, maybe CGI her in like they did with Peter Cushing.
I guess we'll have to wait and see.
