I just love this thing in Imperial Civil War, very much looking forward to using it in Ascendancy.

You really should know better by now, it just isn't possible in the sins engine!

I'm almost certain if you'd look back at other comments in any pics of the various star destroyers you'll see this mentioned many, many times!!

One covers each side. Weapons aren't individual in Sins, they're done by type and then by four banks.

Thanks. I was wondering because it struck me that its firepower could be limited in comparison with the golan if its weapon could only fire at a side angle. In effect reducint it to 25-50% of its firepower in most scenarios. :)

That would make them even more useless as they are now. Even though effectively protecting a planet from all angles isn't working in Sins at all and you need to group your golans/space stations into tight pack in order for them to survive AI's massive attacks (AI's fleet composed of 99,9% frigates and fighter/bomber carriers) a nerf like that isn't needed.

No defense can't handle hundreds of frigates and bombers AI sends against you. Also, in a sense, few large guns equals defeat against numbers.

Description

The Visvia is the strongest of the defensive structures available to the Empire of the Hand. It has considerably more firepower than its Golan III counterpart, although its prominent and exposed subsystems makes it more fragile. This damage is also contained mostly in fewer extremely powerful shots from its main four cannons, each of which are almost the size of a small frigate themselves.
