Star Trek: Armada III begins with the first stirrings of the Dominion War and allows players to take command of five unique factions, the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, the Cardassian Union/Dominion Alliance, and the Borg Collective. Explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldly go where no one has gone before.
Here's a new render by KillaBC! Check it out.
They were retreating...
There was no need for a suicide run.

They're showing us how far they're willing to go.
Hi, I know the ship doesn't really fit the era the mod uses, but have you ever thought about adding the Constitution-class... ... in a wallpaper? :P
i concur :p
Yes,
AS DEBRIS.
You see... "tailor", if I would have any artistic skills I would make exactly that happen ;)
Actually... I'd make it a tribute to the scene in Star Trek V, where the klingon BoP shoots space rubble. :P

oh Garak ur clothier sense of humor is quite charming
Your...
It doesn't fit the era, they don't want it. If they went back to an era where it was semi common, then MAYBE it would come into play.
But what about using it as a diplomatic ship?
Clearly they wouldn't want to waste such a beautiful ship design, it should really be added... ... to a wallpaper :P
Well, they use a lot of Star Trek Online's visuals for stuff, like most of the icons. I know Star Trek Online is non-canon, but in that, Starfleet uses Constitutions, refitted with newer weapons and equipment, as Captain-level Cruisers.
So they could still add in the Constitution. I for one, would love to see it!
NO NO NO its been asked GO AWAY its not coming. EVER.
actually, STO is canon. This is what happens when we give development rights to an MMO.
To be honest i actually have no problems with it being canon. And if anyone objects then please provide valid reasoning below, i will maintain an open mind.
Actually, I have a reply for why it IS canon. To be non-canon, it would need to cover material in conflict with established facts and timeline. STO takes place in the future of currently covered events and takes those canon events into account. Therefore since it takes place in an uncovered era, and does not contradict established canon, it is in itself therefore canon. At least until a show or movie or other source of accepted canon that contradicts the MMOs' events. So until then, Star Trek Online IS canon.
ramming the odyssey worked anyway
are the fighters going to have the ability to do a suicide run?
Only if it only works when shields are down, lol.
just watched this episode last night ;)
i might do that tonight :p
wow it looks incredible
amazing as always
A more noble death than the Yamato's. Killed by a computer virus, she was...
this looks good enough to be in a frigging movie :D
It really is a good replica... For a moment there I almost thought it was the real thing, but only for a moment. :D
I see what you did there ;) mister vreenak

When I saw this in the comments I was afraid you'd be putting in that STO piece of junk, thankfully my fears were unfounded.
Don't worry it won't even be mentioned in the mod at all.
In fact as we've repeatedly said there will be no STO ships in the mod. ;)
Did you replace the Borg Titan? Wishful thinking I know, but I hate how that thing looks.
How I would wish for them to make the tactical fusion cube the titan. Doesn't have to do a fusion-animation, just be immense. As a tribute to Armada 2 :)
CONTRADICTION DETECTED.
Borg Titan anyone? when was V'ger a Borg vessel?
When STO happened
To be fair it was suggested in Legacy that V'ger became the Borg. It was only fitting that it was continued somehow and represented in a smaller but still large Borg command ship.
I've heard this theory before and it's never stuck with me, and I'm pretty sure it's non-canon at any rate.
The Borg's instinct is not to learn, but to assimilate and incorporate species and technology into their greater whole. Anything that doesn't add to their quest for perfection is destroyed or dismissed as irrelevant.
It's also stated several times in the series that the Borg have existed for millennia, while the Voyager probe (V'ger) would only be about three hundred years old by the time of its appearance in The Motion Picture.

The galaxy class. My favorite ship ever...the 1st star trek ship I saw on tv when I was 4 (in the 90's) with my grandpa.Ah what a sweet memories. :D
I even bought that ship in STO (i know it was junk),only for the nostalgic feeling :D
When is this update coming out?
when it comes out and when they feel that it is ready. Cant expect them to release when you want them to ya know. As a modder from another game series i know the burden of having to work on a mod alone, takes a lot of time.
I understand. I was just wondering a ball park figure.
Absolutely gorgeous and my new desktop. Also that scene is one of my favourite parts of ds9, as is showed that match for the mighty galaxies
