Nice, just wanted to be sure. :P Now I have even more reason to play the Cardassians. Not that I really needed more of a reason...

Description

The Norin is the newest cruiser weight warship in the Cardassian fleet. Armed with some of the latest offensive weaponry the Union has to offer, the Norin is a fearsome presence on the battlefield. Though it has only served in the Cardassian fleet for a short time, there are already those in the ranks who believe that the Norin could potentially be the contender to finally rival the now iconic Galor.

While it lacks the Galor's sheer resilience, the Norin packs perhaps the most firepower of all the ships in the Cardassian fleet short of the Union's capital warships. Armed with the latest Cardassian phaser emitters and the finest photon torpedo targeting systems, the Norin's conventional firepower leaves nothing to be desired. In addition to its conventional weaponry, however, the Norin is able to fire a powerful tachyon beam, reverse-engineered from Federation schematics stolen by the Obsidian Order. This weapon quickly overwhelms the target's shields and strips the hull, dealing devastating cumulative damage.

The Norin also carries a compliment of Cardassian soldiers specially trained in close-quarters combat. This makes them uniquely qualified to board enemy ships, or to secure lightly defended installations like neutrally held mining outposts.
