Ok so I must be missing something here. I've played as federation a number of times and even with the latest TFF and Nemesis mods activated, I don't see a constitution class anywhere. Do I have to use a special map or something?

I love the wrath of khan and the undiscovered country. I always felt they got it right when they treated space battles like submarine warfare. Ships that size and larger don't look right flying and maneuvering like fighter craft.
For instance, take this scene from 'Hunt for Red October', ( Youtube.com ) and replace the ocean with space, perhaps an asteroid field, replace the Red October with another federation ship perhaps a Federation-class dreadnought, the Dallas with a Connie named U.S.S. Dallas, the soviet sub with a klingon D-7, and play this scene out with those visuals in your head.
