That's a great quote. I wish we got to see more of the Captains who were less scientifically and exploration inclined, and primarily signed on to defend their homeland. I'd imagine there were a lot in Starfleet. Jellicho comes to mind.

"Sign on, young man, and cunter-punch with me! The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free! Heed my call, come to the Neutral Zone! Come cunter-punch with me!!"

Hey Aenarion?......I think you are beating the dead horse bit too much now, eh? That cunter puncher joke is starting to get duller, to be honest :/

Just wait until I get back in the original groove, the jokes will keep getting better with each (especially Romulan) upload.

Nah, its about peaceful exploration (until you meet Klingons), all the military minded guys work in yellow shirts like Worf.

Actually in the DS9 timeline the yellow lined uniforms were for the Operations department. Red for command officers (notice when Worf gets promoted he gets a red uniform) and the science and medical division wore blue lined uniforms.

In DS9 gold uniforms continued to represent Starfleet Security personnel, as well as Operations.

Red - Command.
Gold - Engineering/Operations & Security.
Blue - Science & Medical.

Something I've always been curious about, that probably hearkens back to the earliest days of STA3... what was the reasoning (lore- or dev-oriented) behind the decision to place the Saber at the start of the Fed's ship hierarchy, and not the Miranda?

Apologies since I'm sure that this has been asked and answered before, but seeing the great shot above convinced me to finally ask.

The order in which ships are unlocked isn't necessarily reflective of how advanced they are, but more often of their role. It's a balancing thing. As a basic frigate, the Saber is available from the get-go, while as a fast striking corvette the Miranda needs to be unlocked.

Aha! Got it, thanks. Was genuinely curious if it was a balance choice or lore choice, because I'm all ABOUT dat lore.

We try to keep true to the lire as much as we possibly can. The only thing that trumps lore is gameplay.
