Star Trek: Armada III begins with the first stirrings of the Dominion War and allows players to take command of five unique factions, the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, the Cardassian Union/Dominion Alliance, and the Borg Collective. Explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldly go where no one has gone before.
The mighty Galor heavy cruiser is the reigning champion of the Cardassian Union and the Central Command. No vessel better exemplifies the Cardassian military ethos favouring durability and attrition. In its more than 20 years of service the Galor has carried out the Central Command's orders in practically every military role, and has become by far the most common vessel in the Cardassian fleet. While more recent vessels such as the Keldon and Kulinor have risen to challenge the Galor's primacy, none have surpassed its multi-role functionality.
The Galor was developed and launched in the 2350s to spearhead a fresh Cardassian push during the Border Wars with the Federation, and to replace the adequate but unremarkable Tonga cruiser. The Galor had an immediate impact. Older Starfleet ships found themselves outright overmatched by the potent new Cardassian cruiser, and even Ambassador-class starships found the Galor threatening. The Galor became the menace of the border regions, threatening Federation colonies and forcing Starfleet to rely on technical skill, rather than strength of arms. This continued until the launch of Starfleet's Galaxy-class heavy starships, which outclassed anything the Cardassians were capable of fielding, including the Galor. Relative peace followed soon after.
The Galor continues to serve today as the backbone of the Cardassian fleet. Steady upgrades over the years have only increased its effectiveness. Armed with the finest Cardassian phasers and photon torpedoes, the Galor is bound to serve the Union with pride for decades to come.

Yup, the Cardies took one look at the Big Gal and said "Nope, we give up, we're screwed"
'Later the federation fleet of galaxy class starships 'Noped' their way out of the border sectors at the first sight of a fleet of Hutets'
no kidding it's the most durable cardassian ship, it has more armour than a titan or starbase
For the union, I was reading it in russian accent ...remember RA2?
" At least I have job" Ya that's what those Cardassians said before a rouge Federation captain blew up all those " Innocent Transports" they totally weren't arm's transports who could think such a thing.
What a ludicrous suggestion!
if you believed them you should of searched them
"We will bury them"
I must agree that in military standards it's far superior then other races in terms of armor and weapons. I like the fact that it chooses phasers over photons, quick recharge, low power cost and they build them in high numbers. Can't do what others do but in terms of a fight it surely puts up a fight. And the design is unique. I'm glad you guys filled the gaps in terms of more ship classes.
The Galor, the Pzkpfw IV of space? :P
The Panzer IV was an infantry support tank pressed into an anti-tank role. It was never more than adequate. The Galor sounds like a much more robust vehicle.
Maybe a Panther.
Mmm,I feel the role of Tiger is probably more fitting for a borg ship.
But what does that make a defiant?
Keeping it within the confines of the Cardassian faction, I'd say the Galor would be a Panther, the Keldon and Kulinor would be a Tiger I and II respectively, and the Hutet would be the Maus.
Early Pzkpfw IVs had no issue penetrating other early war tanks outside of the very heavy ones which outside of the french B1 Bis weren't readily available for the Allies.
But yeah, the best early "german" (read: czech) tank was the Pzkpfw 38(t).
After the introduction of KV-1 and T-34/76 tanks the Pzkpfw IV was upgraded to Ausf. F2 which was capable of fighting both on equal footing.
The main issue rose with russian tanks like the T-34/85 or IS-2.
This was the point where the Pzkpfw IV, even with later upgrades started dropping in effectiveness harshly.
However both of these tanks were a rarity rather than the common enemy.
Anyway, I wrote the initial post because the Pzkpfw IV did well up until the late war but even then saw a lot of action due to being the backbone of the army.
