As well as better foliage models and textures, Wormwood will also feature a lot more of it!

Expect hundreds of new trees and bushes in each level, with little FPS drop thanks to their optimised nature.

Now the Zone of the game will look a lot more like the Zone of real life!

Ha! "thanks to their optimised nature." These do look really good. Can't wait to see the pretty scenery!

The zone should be densely wooded. Vanilla S.T.A.L.K.E.R. foliage look like wasteland. Real life photos from the zone Stalkerfrance.com

I guess the second disaster in 2007 did its fair share of destroying the nature and transforming the zone into the wasteland it is in vanilla CoP

I think it's more to do with the average computer GPU in 2007. Foliage is pretty taxing to render.

Actually I did need to be told which was the better one, they both have their merits, but I like the left more anyways.

Colors in the right tree looks great, though. Imho the green on the left is a little "green". It might be because of the grey background, so before I'll say go with the right one, I'd like to see the new ones in game first!

I know it's vanilla ... I meant to say the colors in the right one look 'fitting' to how I imagine the zone to look.

Happily, since these are AN3 trees you should just be able to drop whichever version of the textures (Summer, Autumn, Dry, etc) over and end up with a Zone that looks how you like it.

I'll be going for autumn, personally.

I admit, the newest LA screens look great, but seeing such lush and dense textures really do make the trees look arcady. They're fuller, regarding violage, but then again, it has the tradeoff where you can see the sprites ending and such.

I'll be tweaking the fiolage indeed. I do like my zone green, but not too green like I did in the initial release of my PRZ mod :p

Description

Thanks to the brilliant Cromm Cruac, Wormwood will feature the highly improved foliage featured in Lost Alpha, and Absolute Nature 3.

As you can see in this comparison image from the Level Editor, the new foliage (on the left, as if you need to be told), is of far higher graphical fidelity than the vanilla foliage (on the right).

We're very pleased to be using these assets, so thanks to Cromm for his hard work!
