Bear in mind that we're still in the BETA of the mod, this is by no means the projection of a final product.

Though it looks damn sexy already, doesn't it? ;)

Happy new year guys, expect more to come for 2013!

Because many people are confusing this weapon with the SA80a2 (L85A2), here's an example and comparison between the two (notice the round cocking handle and old magazine on the A1, showed in this picture)

I quote:

wikipedia wrote:
The L85 rifle (full name Rifle, 5.56mm, L85A2), in its improved A2 version, is the standard individual weapon for the British armed forces.

Magazines issued with the L85A1 were aluminium, and not very robust. There are now three types of magazine issued with the L85A2, the most recent being the plastic Magpul EMAG purchased as an Urgent Operational Requirement (UOR), the other two are of steel construction with a stainless steel follower. The main variant is for live ammunition, and the other is exclusively used for blank ammunition.

From 2007 an upgrade (for the SA80a2/L85a2) including the provision of ACOGs, a new handguard incorporating Picatinny rails (with optional hand grip/bipod), and a new vortex style flash eliminator is being introduced for use by selected units.

Hope that clears things up!

I'd say, impressive texture work, done by one of our texture artists, _xXxTWiST3DxXx_. The model is vanilla (stock, from the game)

Check him and his mod out (link in the desc.) It's both part of MISERY 2 and it will be a stand alone :)

Cheers!

Camo painting looks too shiny for a worn and smuggled L85A1.

Please bear in mind that the grip, stock and other camo parts have been 'painted' with this camo :) and the original parts are made of polymer / plastic so it's supposed to be this shiny ;)

Ah, that's sexy. But it's the sound effects and animations that make or break a weapon for me.

Same, and I will cover that aspect of the mod. Judge for yourself, I'd say: Moddb.com

:) (it's my personal gamedata AND moddb seems to make my video's really, really dark...)

The ammo is missing from the mag.

Total gamebreaker.

What if I told you that reloading is meant to change empty mags to full mags?

It does indeed look like he's swapping the empty mag for a new one.

Why in the file name the weapon is stated as A1 while in the game the texture says A2? Which one is correct?

Give us a brand new one, in higher quality with a proper UVmap, and we're happy to include it ;)

But sometimes you gotta work with the resources you have! :D

Yes, I must agree with LoNer1. Finding a good, stalker engine acceptable L85 model is a big problem.

What about models from Arsenal mod for SHOC?

Unusable. We need the 3D models for animation and export to .ogf IIRC :(

You know...if the mag's follower is to be believed, that mag is actually held backwards right now. STANAG mags have the follower on the left side, set a little back from the centerline. This one has it forward and on the right, indicating this person is reloading like Taylor Swift on the marine corps' rifle range.

Description

You guys wanted an ingame screenshot with gameplay content, and Twist provided it. This is merely one of the many new variations, provided by New Ordnance.

Moddb.com

I quote:

"Here's an in game screenshot of the "L85A1 P60/DPM". This is both a preview of MISERY 2.0 & New Ordnance as this particular gun appears in both mods. However this screenshot was taken from the latest MISERY 2.0 BETA.

The following is an excerpt from the gun's description:

"In 1966 the British Ministry of Defense issued the Pattern 1960 DPM, the first in a long line of Disruptive Pattern Material uniforms to be issued by the British Armed Forces. The cut of the standard uniform was based on the Pattern 60 olive green combat uniform, but made in the DPM material. Additional versions were produced in the style of the M1942 Windproof uniform, and worn by British Special Forces. It is difficult to classify British DPM designs because so many different versions have been produced, yet only the type of uniform has ever received an official classification."
