So 550 is for "EXTREME HIGH END RIGS ONLY" but from 2017. So what kinds of specs do we need for this?

It would be useful to have approximate specs for each level.

What resolution do you play at? What are your system specs?

The Mod is MORE demanding now, than it was then.

I do not recommend anyone play at higher than 400m. The default of 300m is there for a reason. At 300m, there is 4X the area active in the game than in the plain vanilla COP. That means much more than 4x the alife active, etc. Beyond 300m, Story NPC's are more likely to get killed off before you reach their portion of the story.

Especially if you intend to play with the upcoming TAZ mod (much more demanding), I suggest 300m or less.

It should be noted, that in general, CPU's only have more cores/threads, but are not significantly faster than in 2017 as far as Xray engine cares. CPU core speed is what matters to xray. You can see my system specs in my profile, I play at 300m and 2160p. I have no trouble maintaining 60 FPS at 2160P, but still don't max every setting out.

Jasper34: Lowering the switch distance can't lower the graphic quality Isn't it ?

Switch distance only controls how much life is active, it has nothing to do with graphics, except when you system is not being overloaded with too much life, stutter is less and better FPS usually result.

Alright then thanks Jasper34 FOV and switch distance parameters almost the same i think.

Oh no, they are nothing alike. switch_distance controls how much life is under your umbrella (active), FOV has zero bearing on life, only the width of your view.

I think people get confused by the terms used during installation regading recommendations for switch_distance. When we refer to high end rig, we essentially mean core CPU speed. A high end rig is 4.5 to 5.x GHz on all cores. MISERY really isn't very graphics intensive IMHO. If you try to unjiggy millions of blades of grass that are already very small textures, the workload is ridiculous and will kill FPS on even a top end SLI setup at 2160P. That's why turning off AA makes a large impact on FPS.

Shortly, switch distance: shows how many Npc and mutant life active in the area. FOV: Iron sight proximity

Switch_distance is radius within which all life is actively being processed and you can see them/they see you. Every living thing outside the radius is emulated in memory on all maps.

FOV is how wide you view is, and yes, it impacts how far it feels you are from walls you are trying to hug, how far the weapon seems to be held from your eye, and how small (the higher the FOV) your zoomed target will seem, how much fish-eye effect you will observe, etc. The lower, the more normal, and the less graphical load there will be.

Also how can i improve stamina recovery in New Misery 2.2.1 ? It's a bit difficult than Misery 2.1.1. Almost all suit and helmets provide the same stamina recovery (Medium) I didn't see different one in traders. 🤨

It is intended to be that way. Mod the config files, or use drugs.
