Were you tired that your artifacts with 50 something eq. of kevlar plate protection didn't do anything to protect you from small arms fire? Don't worry i fixed the wrong description for each artifact, beside the quest ones.

As for reference i decided to pick Carbon Steel plates. I divided their fire_wound_immunity parameter by 35[the eq. of one kevlar plate]. I obtained a number that i used to divide every artifact fire_wound_immunity parameter. The artifact ballistic protection is rounded to the one decimal place, for example eq. of 25.4 kevlar plates.

Installation:
-Place the file to
gamedata/configs/text/eng

Www28.zippyshare.com

P.S. English version only!

Edit: I reuploaded correct version.

Thanks, mate. I'd commented a couple times about this, but already knew which ones were lying, so I didn't go any further.

Ok i need to fix some artifacts, because apparently the ones with negative fire_wound_immunity decrease the ballistic protection, and i described them as "0" kevlar plate protection, which isn't true.

Ok. i reuploaded correct version.

thanks for this

Ah sweet. I noticed this as well while I was doing...something. I can't remember.

Anyways this is great, thanks for putting in the effort :)

I made a note to the testlab that your list is more accurate. I literally sold a flame cause I thought it was 4 instead of the 48.5 it really is  It also explains why a fireball felt so weak for claiming to be a 59! while it was like 17 :(

Yeah until pio released this I actually just had the artifact config file open for comparing them since the descriptions were unrelated to the effects. That kinda seems to be a theme for misery TBH :P

Why was this still not implemented in 2.1.1? I just had to reapply this tweak because it was still showing the old descriptions that are wrong.

Tired a bit from incorrect descriptions, I decided to spend some time and make the right russian version of st_items_artefacts.xml
Drive.google.com
Just remove the "ru_" prefix in file's name. Need to be placed to gamedata/configs/text/rus of course.

Can somebody explain to me this please "As for reference i decided to pick Carbon Steel plates. I divided their fire_wound_immunity parameter by 35[the eq. of one kevlar plate]. I obtained a number that i used to divide every artifact fire_wound_immunity parameter. The artifact ballistic protection is rounded to the one decimal place, for example eq. of 25.4 kevlar plates."

Here is the default value "fire_wound_immunity = 0.097 ; 35 sheets of kevlar eq." from the "items_armour_attachments.ltx" file. I dont really understand, can somebody explain please?

He used carbon steel plates as a reference (assuming it was correct) to determine how much fire_wound_immunity is 'standard equivalent' for one kevlar sheet by dividing its actual effect by 35 (the stated number of kevalr sheets). Then he divided each artifacts actual values for fire_wound_immunity by the guesstimated standard equivalent yielding a more accurate count for the kevlar equivalent. It may or may not be accurate, but it will certainly be more accurate relatively for comparing artifacts to technical items like kevlar and steel plates.

Oh wow your here Jasper, do you mind if I ask you how to TOGGLE walk? and how to CENTER SCREEN in Misery/armed zone via console command.

C'mon, I read every post on MISERY forums, even if I don't respond ;)

If you mean set it so you press a key and keep walking until you press it again, I have no idea if that's possible on this version of xray.

I also have no idea what you mean by center screen. In your PDA there is a button to center the map. The button looks like a little army figurine.

Apr 25 2017 Anchor

You're like a hawk! Always watching everybody's move. Anyway thanks but I dont mean the PDA, I need a center screen command for my screen if I use window mode. It's a little off on the left size of my screen, I cant play using fullscreen since it keeps crashing. For some reason windows mode minimizes that problem for me.

Remind me of you system specs, including the resolution of your monitor (4:3, 16:9, 16:10). Also, what setting are you using now (besides windowed mode) like renderer (static, DX10, DX11, etc.) and what video options you are using. I will see if I can help you puzzle out a solution.

Apr 25 2017 Anchor

1400x900 6:10 all max settings(including in advanced) @DX11. Sadly my main monitor got broken so I have to make do with this.

ohh and I am rendering in enhanced dynamic. DX11

I gtg take some nap, hope you can help me later today. Thanks in advance.

1440x900 would be a proper 16:10 resolution.

What is your GPU?

What alife switch_distance are you using?

What is your CPU max core speed and number of threads?

Apr 26 2017 Anchor

Hi again, gpu is gtx 750 ti, switch_distance would be 550? the 2nd to the last, alife would be 10. I have i3 4160 4 threads. I cant tell specifically the core speed.

That's a 3.6Ghz CPU. IMHO, even at the lower video resolution, you are pushing things too much on a 2GB GPU. I would back you switch distance off to at least 400m.

Your CPU has a built in GPU, I would ensure it is disabled in device manager. Sometimes they can cause conflicts. Limiting your FPS to no more than 60 by using Nvidia's control panel 3D settings go to programs and set your vertical sync to adaptive. This will limit to no more than your monitor's refresh rate of 60.

If you manage steady 60 FPS with settings maxed out that is OK, I'm not familiar with that GPU's performance at 1440x900. It may or may not be up to the task maxed out.

If the integrated GPU on your CPU is disabled, there is no reason I can think of why you shouldn't be able to run full screen. Remember to go into _appdata_ folder and delete tmp.ltx, then copy user.ltx into the same folder and rename the copy tmp. Otherwise when you change some video settings they may not be applied properly.

Apr 26 2017 Anchor

Oh no, you got it wrong. I'm at constant 60 FPS and this isn't 2GB. This is the 4gb version. And its not like i'm using 1080p were all video games are having trouble at 60 fps, if I disable my vsync I can get 90-120+fps easy. I didn't say I cant run the game, what I meant was it crashes the game if I do in game things simultaneously like doing trades while storm. I have also tested this at all LOW SETTINGS, it has the same result. I did the same thing, trading while in storm, then crashes xray engine bug crash. So this isnt about settings anymore, I have another gaming PC with gtx 970 core i7. It still crashes, and I have a legit copy from steam and GOG. CLean install from Misery and the armed zone. After installing TAZ, it worsens the crash, Every now and then it crashes if I do things fast in game, like running sprinting, spawning bandits and stuff.

To be fair, I have quite a library in my steam account, and this is the only game with mods that crashes frequently. The rest are fine with ultra settings

If only this game can be in window borderless fullscreen, crashes like this can be easily fixed.

Anyway if there's no fix for it, can you atleast help me out with something, the heat sensor from scopes doesn't work at all. I believe Misery removed this from COP. Can you help me get it back again?

You could compare the scopes file from another mod to MISERY's and change those scopes. It will make the game too easy though.

TAZ uses much higher quality textures. If you are a typical hoarder (not recommended at all) then with the higher burden of textures and too many objects present in stashes and boxes all over the maps, you will have more crashes. We highly recommend selling off everything you don't need in the immediate future. The only things I don't sell off are AP ammo for weapons I potentially will use and grenade launcher ammo. Each item in your inventory or stashes use up finite resources in the game. We are already running 4X the active life at 300m switch_distance from vanilla. The engine can only take so much.

Limiting at 60 FPS will greatly smooth stutter without resorting to higher switch_distance for alife. The further out everything is active, the more undesired interaction of storyline NPC's will occur, more crashes, more stutter. More FPS (than 60) is just wasted electricity and extra heat. It is also harmful long term for your monitor.

I've played the mod and game 6005 hours and never had to resort to windowed mode. If you are not hoarding, something is wrong with your drivers and/or interaction with the integrated video card. Since you have a discrete GPU, I suggest uninstalling any GPU related utilities from your motherboard manufacturer and disabling the integrated GPU. Almost none of the manufacturers have a utility that doesn't cause problems. I've probably used 20-25 different GPU's from both AMD and Nvidia and not had that problem.

Apr 26 2017 Anchor

I never hoard, I only use basic needs 2 weapons that's it. I know all about everything you just said. But the game is fresh from the start go straight to Skadovsk, go trade, suddenly first emission comes. And, there it goes, but it only happens when the trade dialogue is active. I don't use utility either. Like I said man, it only happens to this game. Anyway I believe the game has some serious memory leak issues. I was hoping you know how to make borderless fullscreen window. Judging by your answer, I guess not. Thanks for your time.

Does it do it without TAZ? I remember some crashing during trading in 2.1.1, almost none in 2.2, but I never use TAZ. Having an extra 100+ items displayed just pushes the engine over its limits. You could have a sound issue too, but being windowed would not eliminate that.

Apr 26 2017 Anchor

Yeah after installing TAZ it became worse, when it's only Misery the crashes are minimized to 1 a day. With Taz, it doubled probably tripled.

I see the problem now, come on man! You're so unfair! You almost had me. I almost believe that my 2 different system is the problem. Sigh blame the rig when theres nothing more to say! "Jasper34 Does it do it without TAZ? I remember some crashing during trading in 2.1.1, almost none in 2.2, but I never use TAZ." Why don't you release us with 2.2, that way we may be on the same level then.

If you want to tease me for the 2.2 release, dont worry. Its really working.
