Like the original looks of the game but wants some more oomphf ?
This is intended to be run with the DX11 executable of Anomaly, if you run another version, please install reshade from Reshade.me and omit the dxgi.dll i included.
Please disable any ambient occlusion in the game options, the one included in this reshade profile works better (the ingame one is broken) and runs better.
Do not install using mod organizer and such.
The following mods were used :
Enhanced Shaders and Color Grading for 1.5.1
Dynamic Time-based Tonemap Extended (UPDATE 4)
Some hi-res skybox mod i can't find anymore
Known issues : You are definitively gonna notice ambient occlusion trough menus and loading screens, nothing really annoying. (the game depth buffer doesn't include menus and such, so, can't work around it)
Everything is ready as provided, crosire doesn't want people to upload reshade files elsewhere, normally you should get the installer on his website and go trough the setup yourselves.. but whatever.. i don't want to deal with X comments about installation.
Screenshots (first original, then with reshade) :
Right click and select open in new tab to see screens in original size
All the screenshots were made prior to the depthhaze update, you can compare ingame by using numpad 7 and chose to use it or not, it will only affect certain scenes and only affect the image in the distance like depth of field, so no major difference, i did tweaked the effect file to make it run faster without having a visible quality loss in my opinion, given the very light amount of the effect that is currently used it can't be noticeable.

To bring up reshade menu ingame : Home key
To toggle on/off all the effects : End key
Oct 31 : Added an UIMask layer to hide AO under minimap and other UI elements
Also tweaked the AO settings, should be less prone to weird AO on flat surfaces and in foggy weather.
Still Oct 31 : added depthhaze effect (numpad 7 to disable)
Nov 7 : Tweaked depthhaze effect and duplicated it under the name depthhaze_fast that now runs 50% faster (GPU usage : 0.830ms vs 0.390ms) about 2 fps gain in 1440P with a 1070
Works with DX8 too? I just have no idea about this..
"ReShade supports all of Direct3D 9, Direct3D 10, Direct3D 11, Direct3D 12, OpenGL and Vulkan."
Sadly no, DX8 is not supported.
Ah... Okay then...
Where do you disable ambient occlusion in game settings? I do not see this option.. Is it called something else?
Settings -> Visual -> Advanced
Lighting category
SSAO Quality : Off
SSAO Mode : Off
mega visual bugs with reshades ssao (your config ) when foggy this is with and with out looking down scope happens with out it to :( had to disable it i really liked your .cfg though
here look
Easyupload.io
Ah yes, i just got used to it i guess, i learned to live with the glitches rather than using the half-working ingame one which eats more fps.
I played with the settings to reduce it to a minimum, but can't get rid of it, maybe another AO shader could do better but this one runs really good performance wise.
What settings did you edit in the ini to reduce it?
[Fast_FXAA_sharpen_DOF_and_AO.fx]
ao_fog_fix=0.430000
I just got Ricrolled (almost) by a fng README file.
Thanks, you made my day.
will this interfere with Shader based scopes?
i highly doubt so
thanks...
