I want to set the mutant at 10, but I'm concerned that this will cause them to overrun each faction's base. What would be the proper balance with mutant-stalker balance? I basically want a well-populated zone, but there should be more mutants than humans.

This error is not from this addon.
I had the same issue when I used it. The mod is incompatible with dynamic mutants since they change the same file. I am not sure how you would make a comparability patch for this or I would be glad to help.
Dynamic mutant is it an addon ? if yes, ill going to make another version of extra-alife, you just need to send me the link of this addons
Yes dynamic mutants is an addon, but it is no longer available on the moddb. I will direct message you a Google drive link to the mod so you can get it and make a patch.
New update avaible, you can now find alternative gamedate folder to be compatible with "dynamic mutants 1.42" and "dynamic noctural mutants 1.5"

If you dont have a good CPU it will definetely stutter , and in big maps with lots of factions like Jupiter or Zaton you might get stutters for a bit until the game loads all the A-Life

it would be perfect if you could determine the population per sector, different per sector. without having to manually set it back and forth all the time.
as info, duty gets stuck at 7, but also at 5 in the building, in rostok. a huge crowd in one pile. it would be kind of helpful if you could maybe edit the setting that determines where units position themselves, as well as how many units maximum are in the location stay. while rostok is overflowing, or even the flea market is overflowing, there are 5 units next door in the hanger when it gets high.

Use this mod with the "[1.5.1] SMART TERRAIN SPAWNS BUGFIX." A lot of the problems with the low zone population are because some terrains don't spawn when they are supposed to. The latter mod fixes that, but if you think its not enough this mod complements it.
The mod does not seem to work for warfare.

The addon "zone customization project" don't have a conflict with Extra-ALife, so i added a folder inside the 7zip archive for "wider sliders".
Hello, is the folder for "Wider Sliders" a patch for Wider Sliders or is it a standalone and I do not have to install Wider Sliders?
The folder Wider Sliders include all of Wider Sliders addon + Extra-ALife :)
Will Extra-ALife override ZCP population settings? ZCP's population sliders for mutants and stalkers only go up to 3 IIRC.

Jesus. In vanilla anomaly 1 setting is highest and generates a semi-decent population. With EFP/GAMMA you can crank it up to 4. At 4 I can barely get 15-20 FPS in major regions. I cannot imagine having it up to 10 or anywhere near it!. I play with both mutant and stalker populations at 2 and if I try 3 or 4 my FPS dips below below even 30 in populated areas. I'd be willing to bet even with a 30 series GPU and a top of the line 12th gen chip you would still barely get playable FPS in Rostok or Dead City with population so high!. Regardless this is cool, and as someone else mentioned there is some issues with new game starting spawns and them clustering up. For example with it set at 5 in Rostok when you spawn there is so many stalkers they cannot exit and funnel out of the bunker.
You'r performances issues is probably from a textures and shaders overhaul, with a simply i5 2320 and a 1050ti, I can up the population to 10 without so much FPS issues
Yeah for sure, if I dropped some shader stuff and other visual mods that are taxing I could crank the population up a bit I bet.

You need to install first dynamic mutant, then adding the gamedata folder for dynamic mutant.
