Add addonReport50-round drum magazine for 7.62x51 rifles (Mags Redux)
* v1.0 [2022-04-03] initial release * v1.1 [2022-04-14] created own icon based on this image from here * v1.2 [2022-04-24] fixed the bug that caused the icon to display incorrectly for DX8 and DX9
I use it, thank you for your work, I voted 10. The addon will look even more, if you add your own icon, also knowing that this type of magazine, if it exists in real life.
Yes, as the description says, it's for rifles that can use the "Extended 7.62x51 Magazine".
SCAR uses "Extended 7.62x51 STANAG Magazine".
I personally use DS ARMS SA-58 and that's what I made it for.
SCAR and SA-58 use different mag base types ("stanag" vs "hinge") and to make it compatible with both would require many more changes that may create conflicts with future versions of Mags Redux. This is currently a very simple addon that should be conflict-free.
Greetings friend, I have a problem apparently the icons appear cut off in DXT8 and DXT9, it happens with both add-ons, this one and the 50-round drum for 9X39 rifles
Thanks for the bug report. I can see the problem, but at the moment I'm not quite sure how to fix it as I'm not an expert in icon creation (these were the first icons I created). I'll try to do some research or contact some people who have created icons.
Edit: Found the problem. Apparently, for older DX, the icon file needs to be 2048px x 2048px (icon itself is less than 100x100), so there's a lot of wasted space there. Newer DX can handle non-wasteful icon files. Anyway, should be fixed now.
I use Mags redux and love it so far, personly i would put Drums inot the Large mag category since Drums tend to be very big.
A drum of 5.45x39 would take more space with less round thant the 60 round of the quad stack magazine due how a drum is built, realy drum are usually very space inefficent and akward to carry.
I might ramble bit on here but Stalker is fun for the immersion and exploration of the zone, anyways i enjoy Magazines redux for the fact you have to manage the ammo more.
I know this comment is a bit old, but in case it helps anyone else, changing the mag size in the mods config files is pretty simple and works as far as i can tell.
It's found in gamedata/configs/items/weapons/magazines2
and the line is under "mag size" simply change "medium" to large and that's it :)
