Source Media Arcade released TODAY!
Eleven days earlier than previously announced, just to make sure you have time to make the spookiest 3D desktops in time for Halloween. Head on over to its ModDB profile for the download link and take part in the development of this young mod. You can get help or give feedback on the official SM Arcade forums, which I and the rest of the Dev team will be trolling in the coming days.
The beta has even more features than expected, including the one demonstrated below which allows you to fully populate a map of ANY size with hi-res avatars!
"Infinite" items video - Source Media Arcade Mod for Half-Life 2 - Mod DB
In case this is the first time you are hearing about Source Media Arcade, here is a run-down of what it's about:
- Browse, organize, and explore your documents and media files in interactive, customizable, and highly dynamic 3D environments.
- Quck & easy setup: Immediately see your documents and media the first time you play, within seconds.
- Very expandable: Easily install & use downloaded content.
Basically it is a 3D interface that can be used to launch and play games or documents. In addition, it displays image files in-game on virtual screens and supports over 40 image types. Head to the ModDB profile's Download section to take part in the beta today!
Congrats on the release! I will be checking out
Yay! Ive been looking forward to this!
xD
Wow way to go and spam your mod on every source engine game.
And whats the point of this anyway? I mean I would much rather have shortcuts on my desktop to my important folders which are organized then have to load up a game to go find what it is Im looking for.
It's the most original concept I'm sure many of us have seen for ages, and shortcuts are just so uneventful.
waisting time running throught the map to look for folders....ya, right... It doesn't take a lot of brain power to keep your shortcuts and folders orgonized
Keeping your shortcuts and folders organized makes them easier to add to SM Arcade.
Beautifully mapped!
