A doom 2 mod that takes place in the Sonic World that has been attacked. Lot of platforming, springs, and more !
Many monsters from Hell started to appear in a new world... The Doom Guy heard of it, and decided to rip and tear all the baddies... But this world has some mechanics the Doom Guy was not ready for...
In this mod, the rings heals you, no medikit. You still are blocked at 200 HP, but you will be able to continue to pick them up, for a waste, so be careful :).
Springs and platforming are also here, and it may be difficult if you're not used to ! But it's not that complicated for you to enjoy. Most levels also have shortcuts (with teleporting right now) if a platforming section is too hard for you, but you may miss a secret.
Currently there is no real story, as the mod is not finished, so you just go through each level. This will change in the future, with most likely a hub level to choose where you want to go.
Also, did you heard about the Red Star Ring ? They will be present in some upcoming updates in every level, to encourage you to look after them in each level. Their uses will be when the hub level is implemented.
Playable in both singleplayer and multiplayer coop. Works on Zandronum and GZDoom, not tried on other engines.

- Wait a minute, I did already played this mod, on online servers !
Well, yes. The last version released on these servers are the "Sonicworlddoomv24.wad", which is very outdated, and has many, many flaws. It's still playable thought, but I would not recommend it (a bit less than 30 maps). Right now I am working on this mod to make a big release that is worth your time.
- What levels do you plan to create ?
I don't know, until I get bored. I am really close to 32 maps, so it's already great. About the 3D Sonic levels (like Sonic Adventure), they are modified to suit the Doom gameplay. Also I won't do all Sonic 3D levels, because eh... it's not that interesting to play since it's mostly straightforward. Only a few will be present.
- Why did you created this mod since there are already some Sonic mods on Doom ?
Because I did not liked them much. Wads like "Super Sonic Doom" are good, but I wanted a more closer experience in the Sonic World with the Doom Guy.
- Your mod name is very close to a fan game, Sonic World. Related ?
This wad has nothing to do with the fan game "Sonic World". In fact, I only heard of it after I started to work on my wad.

After no news for a while, I'm glad that I can tell you that the first demo of the wad is out!
You can now get it here : Sonic World Doom Beta 1
You need to have Doom 2 to play it, and also, please use GZDoom with mouselook, jump and crouch activated.
In this first demo / beta, you will discover how the wad has changed since the very, very old multiplayer version.
Green Hill Zone for example has changed a lot since then. The base layout the map had is still here, but it's way more complete now, and with Red Star Rings...
Yep, every levels except one in this demo has 5 Red Star Rings to find. Can you find them all? And, can you find the special stage that is included in the demo, and get his reward?

Hello, I'm coming here to give you some updates since someone came on my YT channel to ask.
Yes, the project is still ongoing but in an extremely slow pace. But like I said on YT, I'm currently working on a commercial game and it takes lot of time. And you know, I need money lol, so it's my priority right now. And working both on a game and a mod is kinda exhausting. But at least you know, I'm still on it.
That's what I came in for!
Back in April 2023, I played "Sonic World Doom" and briefly expressed my opinion about it (In Russian: Doomguy.ru).
Thank you for telling everyone about this. We are not rushing you: we will wait as long as it takes.
I have to say, I really love the Emerald Coast and Windy Valley recreations, they're almost one-for-one
Okay, so if you're asking something among the lines of "is this project abandoned?", I've managed to get a reply so you all know:
"Not abandoned, I'm still working on it but on a very slow pace. Was sick for a whole year, and I'm just feeling better since february. I just need to catch up with a few other things before I can work on it a lot again."

This brings the nostalgia back when I used to play the old Sonic games. Seeing Doom with Sonic the Hedgehog makes me happy.
Ever thought about adding something obscure like Amazing arena from knuckles chaotix, or something from the advance games like Egg rocket?
Yeah, I already wanted to add some levels from these games, but I still don't know which one. If you have any ideas feel free.
Now I think about it, as much as I think Egg rocket is an awesome level and a highlight to the first advance game. I don't know if it could be upscaled to 3D and still look good, since its from the gba, it may be an issue. I think Amazing arena could be really cool though and in my opinion, is the most interesting knuckles chaotix level. Also it has the UFO gimmick which is nice. Edit: Music suggestion if you use amazing arena. Youtube.com You could have it playing until 2:22 then loop it maybe.

Not really, except that I think I will not release the second beta, but instead release the full version. The wad is already very far in the development, and it's going very well. I also got some awesome ideas meanwhile (for example, I will have a surprise in Oil Ocean Zone and Star Light Zone). Will probably do videos or something later on.
