Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.

This isn't just about the name, it's about the fact that the carrier vehicles of the more recent SAMs look less visually interesting than this one.

There might not be a need of such a huge missile against a tiny plane, but there is no kill like overkill.
J/K, I know that missile is so big to ensure a huge flight distance :) (And to hit a much bigger targets as heavy bombers)

I kinda agree with you on the missiles being too big, theonewhonevergivesa. But I guess that's how the Russians like their AA. Shooting huge *** rockets to take down tiny Baby-Man planes. I love you Russia. :)

I thought this sort of AA missiles have a significantly improved range and speed compared to those smaller SAM.

Once launched, don't even think of outrun it, you will die tiring!

Nope. It's the planes that are too small.

don't get me wrong, the works are awesome... but I found the three recent tanks of Russia not being as well crafted as the older one, the models are good just like the previous ones, what i am mainly referring at is the textures, some are not as detail as those before, and the textures sometimes a bit blurry and stretchy, like the missile tube in this one...you can also see the texture here though detailed, but is a bit blurry, dunno, call me blind...

Description

Where most countries comprise their militaries of an army, a navy and an air force, the official armed forces of the Russian Federation operate within six distinct branches: The Ground Forces, the Navy, the Air Force, the Airborne Troops, the Strategic Missile Troops and - last but not least - the Aerospace Defence Forces. Being tasked to protect the single largest national airspace on the globe, the members of the VKO are in charge of Russia's elaborate network of early warning radars and advanced surface-to-air weapon systems, the most prominent of which is the S-300 missile. Originally dubbed the 'Grumble' by NATO, the missiles can turn a large air space into a no-fly zone thanks to their amazing range and inescapable accuracy. Ever since its introduction in the late 1970s, the missile has been improved and modernised time and time again, giving birth to an entire family of SAMs which were exported to the likes of Kazakhstan, Belarus and Greece. During the Global War On Terror, some of these missiles almost wound up in the hands of the GLA if it had not been for the intervention of American special forces. The infamous Sulaymaan-Baluyev Affair of 2024 further eroded the trust between the Russian people and their dictatorial government in a series of events that eventually gave rise to a new President by the name of Nikolai Abramovich Suvorov.
