I've always thought Peregrine was red. Don't know why, though...

Technically, I don't think it was any color... I made up the painted part so as to distinguish it from the Imperial counterparts in-game.

Not related but i always found it interesting.

Iblis means devil in Turkish and in Islamic tradition. I don't think creators didn't think about when creating the character but still an interesting thought :D

Well, you know (or probably don't) that there was a Belarus-class cruiser in the old EU ? It's also a former soviet republic. There's a lot of stuff in SW, that would sound funny to someone, who's language has the same words/names in Star Wars, but that have different meaning.

Iblis split from the Rebels after the battle of Yavin and re-joined during the thrwan campaign.

The Peregrine was sold to him by a Guy called Hoffner along with 6 other katana dreadnoughts

the rest of the fleet was recovered by the Empire or NR during the thrwan campaign. Along with the flagship Katana

Just clarifying some lore :)

I know Republic wanted to reduce the amount of crewmembers necessary, but why, oh why did they have to make it a slave circuit fleet ? What if someone spilled some caf on the navcomputer, or someone, i don't know, went mad due to some strange virus & ordered a random hyperspace jump ?

Because if they didn't have slave circuits then Timothy Zahns second book would've been very boring.

It'd be cool if it came with a few other slaved dreadnoughts from the katana fleet as like an escort :)

An interesting idea. I wanted Iblis to be a lower level hero though. I almost feel like that might make him too powerful.

Since those dreadnoughts are automated while his isn't, maybe make them have lower accuracy and/or fire more slowly? They could also have lower health due to lack of upkeep (or something, idk).

Additionally (if it's possible), you make those dreadnoughts look identical to the Peregrine and have the same attack priority to the enemy AI - effectively acting as decoys.

I think if I did this I would use squadron behavior so that whatever order was given to Peregrine, the other dreads would also have to execute. They would move and act with very little autonomy, which makes sense after all. They would not be selectable as an independent unit.

Description

Garm Bel Iblis was a well known individual long before his days in the Rebel Alliance. Like his friend and ally, Mon Mothma, Iblis played an important role in galactic politics during the time of the Republic. However, as Palpatine slowly began to grasp more and more power, Iblis saw a need to speak out against what he knew would inevitably lead to dictatorship and oppression. He, Mon Mothma, Senator Amidala, and others began to draw up the foundation for the Rebel Alliance in secret, while still be a voice against Palpatine in public.

When Palpatine finally took total control and renamed the Republic in the Galactic Empire, Iblis' children and wife were murdered by Imperial agents and he knew that he could no longer only be a voice; he needed to take action in order to put an end to tyranny. Though Mon Mothma and other leaders were reluctant to engage in all out war. After Bail Organa died, Iblis was fearful that Mon Motha would take total control of the Rebellion and become another Palpatine. As a result, he departed from the Rebel Alliance to form his own fleet and resistance group of Corellians who would use hit and run tactics against the Empire, with some measure of success. He also kept an eye on Mon Mothma, ready to intervene if she instated herself as dictator. It was at this time that he acquired the Peregrine.

Iblis and his band would officially join the Rebellion when Grand Admiral Thrawn returned after the Battle of Endor, realizing that Mon Mothma truly had no intentions of becoming a dictator...though both of them were too proud to admit any fault. Regardless, the fleet under Ibli's command would be instrumental in helping to defeat Thrawn and securing the New Republic's seat in the galaxy.

Iblis' career would extend far beyond the Rebellion and he is considered one of the galaxy's greatest heroes, surviving and fighting clear through the Yuuzhan Vong invasion.
