The only issue I see with this is that I would have to create death clones and damage alternates. Props are easy to whip up because it's model...shadow mesh...three lines of code. Lol.
Yeah, that was my thought too. Since it's more meant to be a prop, they will be more numerous than standard bunkers and more tightly grouped, depending on the map. Having more than one garrison slot would make things unbalanced, I think.
Could different infantry squads take up different quantities of slots in garrison buildings?
I.E.
A Stormtrooper group of 9 soldiers takes up 9 slots, but the Rebel squad of 5(?) takes up 5 slots, and the Rebel Plex squad takes up 3.
That tower could then be made to have like 10 slots to accommodate only one of the largest squad type. Remaining slots can be used for singular infantrymen like the Rebel Infiltrators or a hero.
You can control how many slots a squad takes up but the problem with this is that Infiltrator or hero squads would have to be set to 1...so potentially you could garrison, say, 10 infiltrators...but only one regular infantry squad who's garrison value was set to 9 or whatever.
Right, so slots taken up are equal to number of people. In the vanilla game it just seems silly that I can fit 5+ Rebel soldier squads in their transport **** but only like 1/5 the number of non-squad people (Rebel Infiltrators/Heroes) can fit.
I was able to get the T1-APC to allow garrison units to shoot BUT there was one huge caveat... They only shoot when the T1-APC is near the spot that it was deployed. It's like the unit knows to let garrison units shoot from it but the muzzle bones from which garrison units shoot do not move with the rest of the unit. Lol. It's super strange and I have no idea how to fix it.
well that´s even funnier than I expected... I wish my bugs were that funny (COMBAT_MOD debuff is not working against larger ships, idle animations for particles start to play from random time of the anim. and not from its beginning...) :/
Just decoration, or will it double as a bunker?
Debating that still. It would be awesome to use as a bunker, wouldn't it?
True it could be a could be a watch post or sniper nest.

I'd say use it as a bunker if you can add a small "higher ground"/vision range bonus to any units inside.
Yeah, making it a bunker would be cool, but I would think it could only fit one infantry unit.

There is no way around that, unfortunately. The garrison amount is linked per squad, not individual unit. That's just the way it was set up...
Oh, nvm then.
Unless every individual troop was it's own unit instead of the squad unit.
using it as a bunker would be certainly a great, however did you make in progress in terms of moving/setting the firing point?

The guard tower was always one of my favorite props. This makes me very happy.
