*This Unit replaces the Jaguar Tank for the Defense Initiative
The Grizzly Tank has been a main stay in the Allied Forces Arsenal since the start of the Third Great World War. Designed to be a successor to the Jaguar Light Tank following the coming years after the Third World War Conflict. The Grizzly Tank is mainly fielded out by the Global Defense Initiative who are tasked with field-testing the newer technology of the Allied Nations, Using an experimental Breech-Loading System the Tank can fire off a set of six shots more quickly. After expending this salvo the Tank Crew must recover or otherwise the Tank must default to its normal rate of fire making them suitable for opening assaults.
Does it have 3 barrels? Oo
It has 3 barrels that rotate to let it fire off more quickly... Basically its a giant Revolver. The Redesigned Turret is based on the Thumper Tank from Universe at War.
Um, revolver has just 1 barrel, but several breeches in a rotating cylinder. What you describe appears to be more of a Gatling cannon.
It has 6 shots (To simulate the Breech-Loading System) before it fires more slowly. I went with the Triple-Barrel look which does make it look more like a gatling cannon than a Revolver but in execution its a Revolver Tank.
Gotcha. Seems to be a fun idea.
Aha. So it isn't a cheaper rip-off of the fan-only Tremor AGAS tank :)
I looked a little while, but I already fell in love.
That's uh... Not a very practical design, but interesting, unique, and if it's operated (as in the pilots) very well than it could work.
You run the risk of some very serious backfire with a design like this, though, from the barrel potentially not rotating all the way before it actually fires, as well as risking it getting stuck, and the constant force of the blast pushing the shell out would put a lot of stress on the rotation module which could potentially break. But when precautions for these risks are taken this could probably work. It would just be expensive and probably not as good as just a normal barrel module (single or double, whatever)
The redesigned turret is a reference to the Thumper Tank in UAW which actually is a "Gatling" Abrams Tank whose special ability lets it fire off a quick succession of inacurrate shots in an area. The actual "Gatling" MBT though is used by the Berserker Tank from Yuri which explains the tank firing faster as the crew getting adrenaline rush and thus speeding up their efficiency in combat.
And in the end its handwaved in the Colony Wars Lore why it uses an unorthodox design as because GDI mess around with the experimental Tech to do the Field Testing of new Allied Technology.
