Kinda... Digging pretty far back into the stockpiles for a plane like this, aren't they?
Well the Soviets were kinda obliterated economically (and in some parts, physically) in WWIII. Right now they have more crews than they do vehicles/planes, so they're trying to fix this by pulling out older models while they can work on producing new ones.
Besides, the US in Vietnam was still doing ground attacks with similar prop planes in real life.
Who remembers the first mission in RA1? :D

I have a bit of a complaint. I played the Alpha, and the YaK is huge compared to the MiG. This will be fixed by the final version, I hope?
