Boasting the ability of re-creation with talented producers and creators, Recovered Operations will exuberate high-class, padded gameplay with instantaneous enjoyment - stemming from the delectably written dialog and scenes!

Recovered Operations is a Half-Life 2 modification that aims to recreate, reinterpret, and reimagine Condition Zero: Deleted Scenes, the Counter-Strike series' sole single-player experience. Recovered Operations is not merely a graphical update: it will incorporate many new features and elements aimed at creating a more polished, realistic, and story-driven experience than the original game. In the mod, as in the original, players will assume the roles of various elite counter-terrorist operatives, and deploy across the globe to conduct missions in a variety of countries and environments.

Following a long and tumultuous development period, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero was released in March of 2004 after suffering numerous setbacks and passing through several developers. A scrapped single-player version of the game, developed by Ritual Entertainment, was released separately as Condition Zero: Deleted Scenes. Deleted Scenes was met with mixed reviews, with many pointing out its severely dated graphics and general lack of polish. In spite of this, the game has managed to accrue a modest fanbase. As such, we feel Deleted Scenes deserves a modern update, produced to a higher standard of quality.

January 2018 Media Release

We failed to release this article on Christmas Eve, sorry about that.
This is what's been happening:

It's already been half a year since our last update, we promised to update you along the way but we didn't manage to live up to that, however, we have been working on something we believe has been worth the wait.

We've got an announcement to get out of the way before we get into the sweet bits of this article. As you might remember we set up and announced our forums one year ago, but since then it's been collecting dust, so we've decided for the time being to put it down. The site is currently facing down time but it'll be up again in no time, but sadly without the forums.

AI Update

Recovered Operations: AI Presentation

The terrorists of RecOps use a mixture of combine soldier schedules and brand new schedules to work as original enemies. They're designed to flank you whenever they can, use grenades to flush you out more efficiently than default HL2 soldiers, and are less gung ho about charging out of cover. Although they make use of a few copied over schedules, they are a whole new enemy class and use their own AI written from the ground up, giving us maximum control over what they do and when they do it. At the moment, barring any bugs popping up, they are probably about 70-80% done. The next big challenge to improve their AI would be the addition of different behavior types for defensive and aggressive variants along with different ways of shooting and behaving based on weapon type.

I hope you remake, or have a level similar to the 'Secret War' mission from the original CS:DS. Special Forces going to a quiet, eerie, snowy nuke base and finding out 2 different terrorist factions going after the nuke.

We will. We plan to have most or all of the original missions eventually, plus possibly a few new ones.

Cool, any plans to improve the narrative like adding more backstory to each missions, unique teammates (like Captain Price from COD), or connect some missions' story together?

Yup! Every mission's being reworked to be more believable, have more context, and fit within a larger background narrative.

Each faction will also have its own set of unique teammates who will appear across missions, as well as other minor and supporting characters.
