i like it alot, cant wait to see it in action, i wish you would increase the power of the hig. modular destroyers, like to me, the one with all ions should be the strongest, followed by the all torpedo, artillery (HE),artillery, and flak being the weakest, what you think, does it make sense?

Increase? What? Normal does about 1000 damage and fully upgraded does about 1500 damage... What more do you want?
And it does make sense, but I know why exactly I did all of this. But it would be too long to talk about it here.
I can increase you the ions a little bit, but I don't plan to change it any more.

no, im not asking for a whole lot more, i mean when i upgraded the destroyer with all ions and torpedoes for the nose, it had like 1300 attack, but the destroyer with all torpedoes has an attack of 1500, a destroyer with all artillery (HE) only has an attack of 798, a destroyer with artillery normal has and attack of 980 i think. i just thought it was weird because the artillery rounds are made to attack ships that are bigger then frigates and with only and attack power of 798, you wont do much damage. i learned this the hard way when i build 5 destroyers 2 were all ions w/torpedoes on the nose and the other 3 were all artillery (HE) and i when up against 6 adv. heavy missile frigates and got owned. i was left with the expression WHAT??? HOW DID THAT JUST HAPPEN????

Ok I get it. You're talking about the artillery. I wanted them to be with longer range but weaker.
If you have other ships and your artillery DDs are behind them, they'll easily survive and they still do the damage almost like a normal destroyer.
HE is weaker, much weaker. And much stronger. You need two HE DD to beat normal DD, but you can also do the same damage to two enemy DDs at the same time if they're close enough to each other. It's also good against subsystems.
And HE is meant to be slow, because it's the longest range weapon of the Hiigaran fleet and it was supposed to be a support weapon.

But normal artillery is not only stronger than kinetic turret, but it also have longer range.

We can discuss the artillery damage further.

I've looked at it again and no, it stays:

165 - Damage per second of kinetic turret.

247 - Large caliber kinetic (I know, strong, but also useless. The range of it is only 2Km, the DD armed with this always dies first

300 - Torpedo (check the damage of the original torpedo launchers of this DD. They are strong, very strong. I'm not going to check it now, but I think I may decreased the damage of torpedos in the six barreled launcher already.

221 - IONS. First actually good weapon. It doesn't have suicidal reload times (torpedo launcher) or suicidal ranges (large caliber kinetic) and it's stronger than normal kinetic weapon.

187 - Artillery. Better triple barreled kinetic weapon.

102 - HE artillery.

There's only one ion turret and the whole bunch of kinetic turrets. It's intention, because the ship in original is kinetic and there'll be other ion destroyers. The artillery isn't stronger. Torpedos are, but according to HW2 rules. Large caliber kinetic is also stronger, but you know, it has a significant drawback.

oh i see...so artillery is not meant to be stronger, ok im sorry i thought it was, because of the higher caliber and the explosions from the round but i guess an ion beam is stronger, but according to the game torpedoes are considered the strongest but with a 60 sec draw back...i see.

well i think that ions should be the strongest because its the hig. main choice of weapon ever since they got it from the bentusi in HW1, and if you build a ion cannon frigate it has a power of 390 i think. and that's a frigate only, ions on a destroyer i would imagine be stronger because of the bigger size of the ship, just like ions on a BC are the strongest because they are much larger. if you think about it, the vayger destroyer does about 1100 damage per sec. and a hig. ion destroyer only does 1275 per sec. which if you were to put these two destroyers one on one, the hig. would win but it would be a close call, and i think that it wouldn't make sense because the vayger destroyer only has missiles and 2 kinetic turrets while the hig. destroyer has 4 ion turrets and a torpedo launcher. he has more powerful weapons but only 175 stronger, see what i mean? but then again you cant make the numbers outrageous because it would be overkill so i see what your saying. As far as artillery goes i would make it a little stronger especially the (HE) one, because like u said it cant target strike craft only ships larger then frigates and large ships have high armor, if ur only doing 102 damage per sec per gun which you would multiply that by 4 because of the four weapon slots then a destroyer with torpedoes on the nose and (HE) on all other 4 slots would only do 708 damage per sec and that wont put a dent on a BC.

You know original concept of this was to not leave the normal destroyer behind. For me it would be easier to decrease torpedo damage than to raise ion damage. I did wanted just slight tuning, but I understand why you think what you think. But, Hiigaran Ion frigate is almost about the half of the size of the destroyer and it's also one of the "flying cannon ships". The Ion turret is two times smaller than the ion cannon inside the frigate (we can discuss how much energy is converted, but I'm just pointing out).

(BTW why you keep saying "only" missiles)

yea your right about the ion cannon frigate i forgot about that. there is a difference between cannon and turret so i see what u mean. turret is weaker but more maneuverable because it can spin 360 degrees while the cannon has to point and shoot. i just became really upset at the game developers because in hw2 they really downgraded the destroyer. in HW1 the destroyer was bad a$$, it had two turrets and 2 ion cannons. and in HWC it had turrets, ion cannons and missiles but then in HW2 it only has turrets and torpedoes, like wtf??? so when you made it possible to have ion turrets on the destroyer i was really amazed and happy that you brought back the original essence of what the destroyer "use to be" but when i see that its only slightly more powerful then the vaygr one it makes me sad..
-when i said only missiles i meant that the vaygr destroyer shoots missiles and kinetic turrets only. but i just thought about something. i realize now that the vaygr destroyer can be stronger because the hig. destroyer shoots torpedoes while the vaygr one shoots heavy fusion missiles, so i see the difference. besides the vaygr focus on missiles so i would assume theirs to be stronger and more powerful.
-i still think your doing an awesome job with this mod and i cant tell you what to do, im more excited to see what you do with the pulse destroyer and the battleships. :) Do what you feel is best and im sure we will all like you mod no matter what.
