R.E.A.R.M. - "Rearmament Expansion And Redesign Mod" is an unofficial Homeworld 2 expansion and it adds number of new interesting and various units.
Two dueling R.E.A.R.M. destroyers, the crew of one of them already know that they won't survive. Picture with a heavy color correction in a 1680 x 1050 resolution.
That looks awesome! Damn I want to be able to use the Destroyers now :(
Are they going to be in the next update then?
Some people are using it already, because they have the 0.0.3b pre-release.
Lucky Souls damn it. haha
On the page 4 in the mod comments.
Niiice. WWII, or should that be Homeworld War sepia look. :) You could almost here the choir singing in the background.
wow that's beautiful
Damn that looks good!
I'll guess the Hiigies won that one, Modular Desty seriously out-guns the Pulse Desty in that configuration; 4 Heavy Fusion Missiles Vs....all that.
Depends if it's a straight one-ups though, with no outside interference, and at what range the engagement started.
Be a different story once the Vagyr sort out the final teething problems with the new Destroyer-Class axial Pulse Cannon.
Actually... If you think about it, there are a few things you have to consider:
-I like Vaygrs...
-AI wouldn't build those subsystems yet, he just can't do it. So it had to be me in control of that Hiigaran ship. I've sent it to the nearest Pulse DD to make this picture (which was planned from the very beginning), but the first Pulse Destroyer died before I could reach it. So I had to drag my DD all the way though the middle of a huge fight (REARM Gallery, always lot of fighting) to another Pulse Destroyer. I was already badly damaged at the time I've arrived.
-The compostion of the image. It's not coincidence that the Vaygr DD is flying above the Hiigaran one. Ok, it would make sense if it was a tactical maneuver to avoid Vaygr launchers, but not in this case. The Vaygr destroyer is just supposed to look dominant here.
...So the true is, that I've served my destroyer to Vaygr, took some pictures and then watched him die...
Well you're pretty lucky then. Any time I tried to plan a picture, it didn't turn out very well. All my good pics are from pausing the game after noticing something interesting.
Yes, of course! I did not think of that.
I did notice that the Pulse DD is 'rearing up' dominantly though.
Getting the AI to build Modular Destroyers is going to be...interesting.
I have no idea, but can only imagine how complex that may get.
Do you have a scripter on board yet? I've noticed you mention a few times you badly need one.
Ug, I am waiting for the full release, but your alpha is sooooo tempting... My mouse is hovering over the link... No, I want to play this mod in its full glory, and see all of the wonderful surprises at once... Keep up the good work, mate!
It's your decision, but the mod appears quite finished already.
You mean the 0.0.3b pre-release is almost the same as the 0.0.3b full release. Still a ways from 1.0
-Yes, the 0.0.3b pre-release is almost the same as 0.0.3b full release (some bugs fixed, some tuning, pulse destroyer and maybe the small HS beacon).
-Of course it's ways from 1.0. What I wanted to say wasn't that the mod is almost finished (absolutelly no, not at all). But that the mod appears as ready, even it's unfinished and still unbalanced. And by this I meant that I finish everything I start, so there are almost no unfinished models, icons, researches, texts. That everything is polished as you expect in the finished mod.
-And it will go like this: 0.0.1 - 0.0.9 will be alpha and at this stage it's all about ships and models, minimum of maps or no maps at all. But I want to finish some gamerules there.
0.1 to 0.9 will be considered as beta. The fleets will be ready (but still some new ships may come), I'll work on maps and other ideas. This stage should be a lot faster than the alpha stage.
1.0 to anything above. The current plan will be done. I'll see what the future will be, if to add a new ships, new maps, (new small races ?). After 1.0 will be a good time to work on some micro campaign for example etc. Or maybe not, I'll see.
Might want to put that schedule up in the summary, or in a news post.
