Republic Assault is a full scale conversion mod for the Petroglyphy game Star Wars Forces of Corruption. Using elements from both the current canon, and existing EU to create the best possible game experience.
Alright, dunno how much I've explained on how space works here on ModDB. But if I've already done it, I'll do it again.
The current plan is for vanilla space stations to remain in effect, however they act as a sort of staging ground for the rest of a planet's orbital buildings. They're barely armed, can't spawn ships in combat, and can't build ships in GC.
However, you can construct several buildings to make up for that. In the Golan's instance, it replaces the space stations offensive capabilities, and amplifies it into a grid of several stations. They're heavily armed, but don't carry fighters unlike the EU version. The current goal is to have them set up similar to vanilla ground turbolasers, where they're spread across the map.
All 3 Golans have also been compressed into one orbital defense station.

So if our normal space stations don't give us fighter spawns and the golans don't, I assume we'll get the ability to build space platforms that will allow us to deploy fighter squadrons?
