This is a heavy upgrade to Rabid's Crap, so it gets a whole new mod page. I've upgraded all nine base Doom weapons in Rabid's Crap to the Rabid version of each. I've also fixed all the error messages when the mod is loaded, which has given us a few more effects out of Brutal Doom/Brutal Doom 64. SgtMarkIV gets credit for those, and for full credits on every Rabid weapon, you can go to the individual pages on here.
Added blood to Cacodemon deaths, including blue bloody footprints. The skull column has PBR textures. Kaiser's Acid Demons were added. The Arch-Vile is more dangerous than ever. More HD textures.
Dude, maybe you can do some compression of PNGs along with convertation of WAVs & MP3s to OGGs?
I mean... 1.25 Gb is not good in any way...
I must apologize for my lack of expertise in certain areas. I figure since terabytes are cheap these days, people have plenty of room on their computers. Plus, the mod looks the way it does because it has a lot of high res images, 3D models, etc. Are people really hurting for hard drive space?
Meanwhile, for perspective, Doom Eternal weighs in at 80gb. Don't think I'll ever get to 80. In that way, for what you're getting, 1.25 is astounding.
I mean, no offense, but even "Unreal RPG" mod from dbdarius1 has weight of ~150 Mb and there is many new'n'cool things!
Please, compress PNGs, convert all sounds & music to *.ogg with preset "Zero" via AIMP 4 Converter and I am sure that it can decrease a size of your mod in 2 or 3 times...
Even most cool mods & maps have weights of maximum of 100-200 Mbs. Your example with Mario Eternal is just dumb, 'cause your mod is for game of 1993, not for Mario Eternal.
Again, is your mod ever have "HD/4K" textures included? If yes - then why? People can download a "HDTP" for themselves. No need to include that in your mod, 'cause then of course it gonna be bloated.
My mod is for making a 1993 game play like a more modern game, which means it's not dumb. I'm sorry that you have a tiny hard drive, but not everybody does.
Yes, you can download a HDTP for yourself, but I'm customizing this one for my mod, i.e. it is part of the mod and part of the point of the mod.
Have you even opened it to see what's compressed and what isn't? Please don't presume to tell me what to do with it.
Any mod over 200mbs had best be a masterpiece like The False Angel, but sadly this isn't a masterpiece. Will consider downloading it once it's less bloated.
That's one opinion. By someone who apparently hasn't even downloaded it, no less. How much hard drive space do you have?
7tb on my new laptop. 1.25gb for a gameplay mod isn't acceptable, especially when Total Chaos weighs 1.5gb and is far, FAR more worthy of its size.
Again, you haven't downloaded it, so you don't know. If 1.25gb is too much for someone with 7tb, you're just being a jerk trashing it like that. Especially true since if you don't like it, you can *gasp* delete it!
I did, it's not worth that much space.
...and this when you have 7TB and can just delete it if you don't like it or need more space somehow.
Is it a coincidence that you and Rastamangames showed up at the same time to badmouth my mod?
I have no any bad intentions against you, but your mod is way too heavy.
And his example with "Total Chaos" more legit than yours with "Mario: Eternal".
You seem to. "More legit" how?
