Q: Why this mod is needed?
A: I want to recreate all old weapons from Quake 2. I really love this game, there are a lot of great source-ports with improved graphics, but they all have bad models.
Q: What wrong with original models?
A: They are too lowpoly, but even this is not a problem. The main bad thing - original models stored in md2 format, which is outdated. Vertex flow at space like jelly and there is no way to fix this without making new models.
Q: But there are models from Generations Arena!
A: These models without doubts look good, but they are far from original view. For example, the shotgun has different geometry, the railgun has different parts. You are free to use these models, but I want to make new models and save original look, also transfer details from textures into geometry.
Q: So, I can use your models in original Quake 2?
A: Sorry, but no. My models stored in md3 format, which is unsupported at original game. Maybe I can find a way to export my models to md2 without such bugs, as a jelly vertex, bad UV, but now better to use some of the source-ports.
Q: What source port is supported?
A: We are at good relations with developers of Berserker@quake2 and q2xp, I started to make models because of them. But also supported kmquake, maybe other port with md3 format. Feel free to write to me, if you need to test models at other port or done it by yourself.
Q: How many models are ready right now?
A: All weapons from original Quake 2, excepts grenade.
Q: Do you want to recreate weapons from add-ons? Grond Zero, The Reckoning?
A: Yes, no problem, some later I will do it.
Q: What about monster models? Multiplayer models?
A: Yes, I want to make enemy models too. It's really a big and hard work, but very interesting to me. And you can show your support at Paypal.me or Patreon.com
Q: So, I cant get models without money?
A: Yes, check addon section. Support me if you like my models. I have more updates and cool things.

Also i want to thank you - it's really great to read your good words about my models. Sorry about delay - i'm really busy at this moment and will continue my work after few month. And will show you new grenade, updates of models and high-poly berserker. I cant find a time right now, so, you need to wait a bit.

Nvidia changed my model at q2rtx for its own and lost original view. Here is original railgun for q2rtx with tweaked material and textures.

I shall wait patiently for monsters remodel. I am eager to blast strogg corpses in HD.
That is impossible at the moment due to the limitations and other stuff in all Q2 source ports
i still wish that someday all ports follows what the Quake 1 ones are doing and add IQM support for independent animations and compatibility
