Basically it's a SP / MP gameplay mod. No maps. Just slap it on top of your favorite mapset and go nuts with it.

Features:

SINGLE PLAYER

  • All monsters and weapons replaced

  • Menu switch to change from High Quality to Low Quality effects

  • Deathmatch weapon balance carefully adapted from Quake4 & Quake Live
  • No random damage. Killing here is not about luck, but about skill

  • Fast as nuts deathmach
  • Rocket Jumping out of the box
  • Color coded weapon/ammo pickups for easy recognition

  • Coop enabled. Weapon balance in coop is the same as SP

Q4LFMDE v1.05 released

Yesterday, after a long hiatus on this mod, I released version 1.04, which brought several things, changes and balance adjustments. All good and stuff.

However, I completely missed the fact that this mod wasnt playing nice with mapsets that had ACS in them. In AeonDM.pk3, for example, you weren't getting your starting arsenal in deathmatch. In HONTE, all effects were forced to "low quality". So, after some digging, I found the reason and fixed it for good. And that's why it was important to release another update.

Now, I did a couple more changes, but nothing major:

-Fixed Q4LFMDE not working properly with mapsets that had any ACS in them
-Fixed scoped MG showing firing smoke (that's only for non-scoped)
-Fixed DM grenades not playing explosion sound in Zandronum
-Added crash sound to pistol alt fire
-Improved trail for pistol alt fire

So, there, another case of "last minute bug" that forced me to release another version of the mod i very recently updated. Yay.

This is a DBThanatos Quake 4 mod for Doom 2. His 1.05 release does not have the shotgun enabled. I enabled it in what I'm calling version 1.05p1.

DBT,

I downloaded and have been playing your Q4 doom mod and noticed that the shotgun doesn't spawn at all. I started poking around the code with SLADE and noticed that in the Weapons.AED, under spawners, that the Q4shotgun is commented out. Was this done by mistake? Just wanted to check with you to see. Thanks! Eric R.

I appreciate the repost. I didn't have an account back then. I'm a few years late with this, but submitted an addon that does enable the shotgun. "Q4LFMDE105p1".
