Perfected Doom 3 was started as a simple tweak mod years ago. After realizing that I was still not happy with Doom 3 after making some alterations to weapons and enemy stats I continued to add more to the game. Now Perfected Doom 3 is more then just a tweak mod. It attempts to completely overhaul the entire game with new monsters, rebalanced weapons, rebalanced monster stats, better graphics, new gameplay features and much more. It has been met with great appreciation and acclaim by it's users. This mod will bring many improvements to standard Doom 3 and it's Resurrection of Evil expansion.

I'm updating a v2 patch because I need to fix a crash, also noticed the sniper doesn't show up, but it's all been fixed now with some more features, please download the v2 patch once it's released and delete the old one

Ive made the weapon skins optional, if you don't like them, don't use them lol. Just delete the file with the skins name in it. And if you don't like the crosshair just delete the new HUD file.

There's something wrong with your plasmagun textures.

My game keeps going back to the main menu because of some md5 mesh of the plasma gun or something that pops up in the console. It keeps crashing my Doom 3 campaign mode due to this one error every time I load my save file and every time I go to a new area. I have to reload two or three times the campaign mode by loading my recent save file again and again to get it running. It feels as if the game is incredibly unstable and personally finding it annoying (who wouldn't?). I've installed correctly Perfected Doom 3 and afterwards all 3 files for Perfected Premium Pack (part 1, part 2 and premium patch v2). I haven't configured anything except the resolution by editing it in the autoexec.cfg with Notepad+ since I wanted it to run in 1600x900 resolution with 16:9 aspect ratio. That's absolutely it...didn't touch anything else.

Another bug worth mentioning is when using the PDA. When you first get your PDA in the prologue or by console cheat and then use it by pressing TAB (default button) and then close the PDA by pressing Esc in the keyboard, my character automatically walks by itself and I can't do anything to control it.It doesn't happen all the time but it is guaranteed to happen once used repeatedly in the long run. I tried doing the noclip mode and my character still walks automatically without me being able to control it.

PLEASE FIX THESE ISSUES. This crashing and the PDA usage bug makes the game unplayable despite all the mods correctly installed and having fulfilled all requirements to properly run the game with all mods installed.

P.S. Yes, my Doom 3 is using the latest version of the game and yes, my PC is uber powerful enough to run Doom 3 in max settings... in case you might wonder

Yes I appear to have the walking uncontrolled bug as well, I honestly don't know what causes it but it's super rare it happens. There's nothing u can do to fix it except close and load up doom 3 as soon as it happens and it should of gone for the rest of the level. as for the saves, this mod doesn't allow quick saves p, so you need to manually save it and then u won't have any more saving issues. As far as I know those 2 glitches you've pointed out have no way of being fixed although they don't happen all the time when playing. Another issue is getting into a new area where the bots are and having them get "gibbed" or "exploded" and then the game crashes, the solution is to not let them die lol

Actually, I wanted to take back my comment since uninstalling the mod and freshly reinstalling it again actually fixed it for me :) It would be nice to inform everybody else who will use your mod so that they to will be informed and will be given the privilege to enjoy your awesome mod without any problems or delay.

I forgot to say how awesome your mod is! Absolutely essential to make the Doom 3 experience much more worth it :D Thank you again for your hard work as well as the others involved in the project! Pls. keep updating and improving the mod in the near future. This is my favorite mod of all the other games I modded so cheers to everyone for this perfected experience of Doom 3! :D

No problem man, this mod took me a long time to make, I know it's a total overhaul and some may not like that. but it's very unique as it provides humour early on in the game without spoiling the horror aspect. I will be sure to update the mod every few months and finding solutions to fix the current bugs. Have you come across any survivors yet? And dud you rescue them lol

Yes I did but...I killed them BWAHAHAHA XD. Why the heck did you put VGames (mod creator) into the game?! XD It was painful for me to kill him but I had to since the survivors were a nuisance,walking and running around aimlessly especially if there's an enemy :P Also, you can rescue them? How? :P

Apart from this, as my way of giving thanks, I could give some suggestions for improvements;

*REMOVE THE MP5 AND AWM AND RETAIN ONLY THE ICER AS THE ONLY SPECIAL WEAPON*
- Not does the seemingly infinite ammo MP5 beat the purpose of having the limited-ammo smg machinegun and AWM beating the purpose of the SMG machinegun's secondary-fire long-range scope (not to mention weapons made specifically for long-range combat doesn't suit Doom 3's close quarters combat game mechanic) but ultimately, it beats the purpose of using any other weapon in general! Users would think; why use limited-ammo weapons when we can use the infinite ammo MP5 and AWM? It indirectly ostracizes the original Doom 3 weapon collection which shouldn't be.

As for the ICER, it is an awesome addition since the Doom Guy (the Marine Soldier we're playing as) was exposed to demonic visions and yet doesn't lose his sanity. It would only make sense that he would somehow harness the power of demons and hell itself. Though I suggest replacing its firing projectile to the secondary-fire of the minigun (flamethrower-like bullets with waffles textures popping up once it hits something/someone) and upon impact, it would first have an explosion similar to the explosion of the grenade/rockets from rocket launcher impact and then the raging flame left by it due to the explosion exactly like the one that the Minigun's secondary fire does. We're talking about harnessing the power of hell; so it would only make sense to use fire and explosion as the means to destroy and annhilate our foes.

*REMOVE THE VARIETY OF ALLIES YOU CAN SPAWN (machinegun soldiers, and everyone else) AND GIVE ONLY THE ABILITY TO SPAWN SENTRY BOTS AS THE ONLY TYPE OF ALLY YOU CAN SPAWN*
- Doom 3's small and tight hallways and corridors are supposedly only made for only the player himself/herself to go around with. Spawning those machinegun/shotgun/pistol & shield/soul cube/melee soldiers and marines takes too much space when you go around your areas. It wouldn't make so much sense either since everybody in the Mars facility is practically dead (I already finished the game back then). That leaves the the Sentry Bots to help you. Don't remove the survivors though; they're great sources of entertainment XD

Sentry Bots are small,compact,fast in walking and powerful and durable enough to help anyone through their journey in the campaign mode. They don't take too much space in corridors and hallways and their movement doesn't dampen your progress and your ability to move around more freely (I installed this mod during the time it still had the ability to spawn sentry bots you see.). Give the Sentry Bots the ability to make them stay in a position and follow you by making sounds, just like the commands given to the ally soldiers and marines.

*REDUCE THE HITBOX OF THE MINIGUN'S PRIMARY FIRE MODE*
- The Minigun damages enemies and allies alike that isn't even getting hit by the bullets itself. Just putting anyone near the crosshair already damages them. I mean, what if the player wants to use the Minigun while having allies spawned? It tends to kill your allies much quicker than the enemies themselves. So please reduce the hitbox so that it only hits the ones being hit by the Minigun's bullets only.

That's it for me so far. Pls. kindly take these into consideration and thanks again for the great mod :)

*RESTORE THE OJBECTIVE POP-UPS (WITHOUT USING THE PDA) & ITEM PICK-UPS NOTIFICATIONS ON THE SCREEN *
- Doom 3's world is messy and has loads of carnage. It would be essential for players (especially new ones playing Doom 3's campaign mode for the first time with this mod and your add-ons) to guide them through to what they need to do and to keep track of important PDAs that give you access to important areas. Basically, its user-friendly.

*RESTORE THE OLD LOADING SCREEN BAR*
- The big blue loading screen bar goes way past the boundaries of the original one. It honestly looks ugly and makes the game feel broken and unstable. Little details matter.

While I agree with some of your recommendations, I think the mp5 should be replaced but I wasn't sure with what weapon, I've got over 10 custom weapons which couldn't fit into the mod, I purposely chose the sniper coz on some new maps it's useful and good for taking down large monsters because it's much more powerful then the shotgun but also lacks the splash damage the rocket does, As for the minigun I've purposely increased the splash damage but I agree it needs to be reduced so changes like this will appear in the next update. As for the loading bar, I chose to use redux mods loading bar but i really liked the blue instead of yellow. Now about the bots, I've chosen them as a bigger variety and they have been modified to work better than any other marine mod as I've included health boosts and muzzle flashes and different particles for them. They are there only as an option same as then HUD, if want the HUD from redux which is basciLly an upgraded version of the normal HUD but includes all the information, then all you need to do is delete the new HUD file that is inside the mod folder And you'll automatically get the improved HUD. And the last thing needed to mention is the mp5 and sniper do not actually have unlimited ammo, I just haven't fixed up their ammo counter on the HUD.

Make sure you read every document in the mod as it may help answer some questions u might have in the mod, sometimes there aren't glitches and I've chosen special unique features in the mod that may seem broken or unrealistic. how have you liked the new maps in the campaign? You don't need any cheat codes to load them. And remember if you don't like the weapon skins or new HUD just delete the files inside the mod as they are optional and not needed for the mod to work. Also have you come across any super cool pick up items?

Still going through the campaign mode currently. Will inform you on the other maps once done with the campaign mode and In Hell Campaign too. Oh, I must especially mention the awesome music you put into the Chainsaw... using Drowning Pool's "Bodies" song while let-it-rip-ing the bloody hell out of your enemies is ABSOLUTE BRILLIANCE! Magnifique!

Don't worry; I read through the text files and the guide ;)

I'm currently in the Comm. Transfer level. THERE'S A POSSIBLE BUG; the camera will uncontrollably zoom in or out at the start of the level. It disappears only when I entered through the first airlock door and go down the stairs where I approached a door and then devilish chanting sounds were heard, leaving this same door bloodied. I tried quitting and reloading the game during this part and the zooming in and out was still there. Is it a bug or just one of the features?

Oh forgot about that bug, yes it will go away after u finish that level, I can easily fix that but if I did, that zoom camera feature would be taken out completely, it's suppose to scare u as u glimpse into scare screnes but keepers glitching out on only 1 level as far as I know.

Have you deleted the animated HUD file inside the mod? So were u able to see the new improved original hud and start seeing the info from pick up items?

Actually, I did try two times. The game crahes due to "instruction reference memory manual error 00001234" every time I load my save file. This is only because one of the mod files of the premium pack add-on are missing. Your premium pack add-on is programmed in the game in such a way that they are inseperable. If one of the files are missing/deleted, it won't work, no matter how many times anyone would try.

In other words, the entire perfected doom 3 mod with the premium pack add-on won't work at all even with just one of the premium pack add-on files missing...in this case, deleting the custom HUD file that is part of the premium pack add-on will crash the game every time one would load any of the saved files. It only works if I put back the custom HUD file (something like zzzCustomHud.pk4).

Yes but if u delete the hud, then you need to start over. None of the save files will load if you've deleted anything from the mod.

the latest patch v4.0 has come out it fixes the annoying sound from the lightning gun and includes the latest official perfected patch and revamped to work with the latest premium pack update v4
