Long ago, when the word 'Hiigara' rang only as a hollow dream, the kiith of Kharak never imagined they would walk the Path to Victory. But, when they reclaimed their Homeworld and proclaimed themselves 'Hiigaran', they believed they had reached their goal. How wrong they were. 150 years after Hiigaran landfall, conflict rages across the Galaxy... Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.
Renowned throughout the galaxy as the most brutal hunter/killer group sailing under the command of the Hiigaran Imperial Navy, the 182nd Sobani Warfleet is a force to be reckoned with.
Lead by the flagship Luminous, the 182nd patrols the borders of Hiigaran Space, joining forces with any friendly fleet requiring immediate aid in battle. Those who serve in the 182nd percieve it as the highest honor. Only the best of the warrior Kiith are ever even considered for a place in this outfit. Training is rigorous and discipline is harsh in the 182nd - almost as harsh as the treatment of their foes.
Securing victory by one way and one way alone, the 182nd will crush anything in it's path in a whitering hail of kinetic shells, for, as any true Sobani would say... Peace through Firepower!
that answer my previous question but brig another one:you will rework the hyperspace module(and other ones too?)?
Yep - sooner or later. I can't say when though. I've run very short on time for modding of late so I can't say how long it will take. Our main goal is still finishing the hiigarans for now.
Have you re-re-redone the weaponry of this baby?
So the 182nd Sobani Warfleet has nothing to do with black&red "Ferin Sha" Sobani fleet? Well, I get it, you don't have to make any relevance to the HW2 story, if it's more than a half of century after the HW2 story (even more when it's not actually explained how big the Ferin Sha fleet really is), but I'm just asking.
Also, nice reference to NOD with the "Peace through Firepower".
I believe the soban was promoted(to commodore or admiral or something) and consequently he has a bigger fleet. :)
I'm surprised someone got the NOD reference. My favorite religious nutcase faction - ever xD
On the sobani thing... well, I'm not entirely sure. As you say, it was never truly explained in hw2. As the only true warrior kiith of the old kushan, I imagine the Soban are the kind of elite troops you'd have at your disposal (think imperial sardukar and the likes). I chose the 182nd fleet because it's not mentioned anywhere in the hw series.
Just think of it as a sobani hunter/killer fleet that was formed following the events of HW2 and has become famous since that time. I think this is the simplest explanation and avoids any issues conflicting with HW2. As for captain Soban himself, I'll let you all hang on that one till we get the next news update ;)
Haha, at least our new motto isn't "For The Brotherhood" haha
hahaha! at least :p
GDI and Nod sub sub factions.... like 1 ship each that would probably be frigate class by homeworld 2 standards.... jk.
Interestring Mololu,
additional flak turrets, and a triple barrel turret instead of the Ion, what's underneath?
The same, just like the regular battlecruiser (which has the same armament) Currently the only real difference is the red stripe and some stats but i'm giving the armament some thought.
and the most important,the firepower?
Kane lives...
Scrap that, EA killed him
Kane lives in our dreams ;) peace through power!
one quick question, how come you replaced all the BC's ion cannons with kinetic turrets? its weird because when i play the game the light cruiser has more firepower than the battle cruiser. and of course the battle platform has the most power, but why did you make the light one stronger then the battle one?
The BC is actually much more powerful. The BC's kinetic cannons are damn powerful, and their main function is to deal area-of-effect damage. The light cruiser has ions, sure, but they're not as powerful, nor as long-ranged, as the BC's heavy kinetic cannons. Honest! ;)
This.
The BC is not a front line combat ship anymore but a long range fire support ship. Used correctly it is virtually impossible to touch and will deal incredible damage before anything gets close.
The EMP shells the BC fires are vastly superior to any other projectile weapon in Path to Victory.
wouldve been more awesome if this ship was firing its weapons
