But, when they reclaimed their Homeworld and proclaimed themselves 'Hiigaran', they believed they had reached their goal. How wrong they were. 150 years after Hiigaran landfall, conflict rages across the Galaxy... Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.
Developed by the Kiiths Somtaaw and Paktu following the first Hiigaran War, the Dervish Class Multibeam frigate gained a notable reputation during the Beast Wars as an excellent strike craft killer.
Development of the Ion Helix Bundle never truly ceased following the Defeat of the Beast however the technology was a well kept secret of these respective kiiths up until recently.
Directive 817, issued by the Hiigaran High Council only days ago, mandates that all Technology previously proprietary to specific kiith must be made available to the Hiigaran Imperial Navy. The respective Kiith will be supplied with ample compensation for their support and will recieve any vessels constructed using the leased technology.
To many an Imperial commander's surprise the Somtaaw stepped up on this offer, gifting selected Carrier Groups with blueprints for the Dervish in return for mining rights in conquered territory and RU compensation for their effort.
Many say it will not be uncommon to see Dervish Class Frigates moving through the battle along side with Imperial Navy ships in the near future. Furthermore, early combat trials of the Dervish's 3rd installment, the Mark III, indicate that the ship has been extensively modified, allowing these small frigates to carry full powered Ion Beams rather than the cut down version that was seen during the Beast Wars, making the Dervish Mk III an excellent all-round ship.
However, like the original, the Mk III lacks the ability to focus it's weapons on a single target, making it better suited for use against large numbers of enemy ships - regardless of their class.

Somtaaw and Paktu in combination according to homeworld shipyards and I assume the relic docs. And yeah, ugly the thing is... but good at what it does xD
